After a very, very busy summer, I’m finally getting back into the swing of things 🙂 New York is always such a dream to visit and this year didn’t disappoint. Today I’ll be sharing my NYFW S/S 2020 Recap: Day 1-3 with you – a firsthand look at where I went, what I did and of course, what I wore 😉
NYFW S/S 2020 Recap: Day 1-3
If you followed along on my Instagram stories, then you already saw a sneak peek of the shows along with my adventures throughout the city. However, since our AirBNB didn’t have a full length mirror, I wasn’t able to share my outfits in real-time as I typically do. So this will be the first time you’re seeing any of my NYFW looks – YAY!!
Each season, I usually create a “theme” to style my looks around and while NYFW is usually known for super outrageous outfits that aren’t considered “wearable” on any given day, I wanted to dial it back a little and just wear things that I would normally wear with just a touch of drama. In everything, I always want to be as authentic as possible and 100% myself and that includes my style. I decided that dressing out of my comfort zone, spending a fortune and creating crazy, flashy outfits just to get photographed didn’t really feel like “me.” While I did feel a little out of place at times, I do think this little experiment has helped me become more confident in myself and my style (and I still got plenty of photographs!). Just a little reminder that we are enough just as we are <3
Day 1 & 2
Outfit Details
Elliatt Dress c/o (white available in this style) | Teddy Blake Handbag c/o (Use TBLizzieInLace30 for $30 off!) | Everlane Heels c/o | Asos Headband (old – similar here)
I wore this pretty little number for a day full of meetings! It was dressed up enough without being too over the top yet was incredibly comfortable for running around town 😉 I also brought my most sensible bag and trust me when I say that this beauty holds a TON of stuff! I brought everything I could ever need for a day out with me and it was the perfect companion.
Sadly, I had to cancel two events I had later that evening due the monsoon outside…not kidding. It was a perfectly sunny day and then out of nowhere came a crazy storm! Still, I was relentless in my quest to NOT miss my events. For a split second, I thought about paying over $50 for an Uber to drive me 30 minutes… but then I grabbed my umbrella and made my way out into the storm armed with the knowledge on how to use the subway system for the first time. Let’s just say that I made it out the door before running for cover haha! The sheer amount of rain and wind really made it impossible. We definitely don’t have storms like that in California!
Afffair!
I went to this show right after I landed at the airport (late, I might add making me miss yet another event lol) but luckily, I wore my outfit on the plane so I didn’t have to worry about getting ready – my seat mates were wondering why I was dressed so fancy haha! My outfit consisted of one of my favorite pink dresses with the most gorgeous sparkly headband but sadly didn’t get a photo 🙁
The show itself was amazing! Afffair! is always such a treat to watch. The designs are incredibly feminine with the most beautiful appliqué and embellishments. This season, the color story consisted on a lot of cream, orange, purple and sea foam green, which surprisingly worked well together! I adored all the florals, ruffles, and intricate netting details. I also really love the tulle gloves – must get my hands on those!

Day 3
Outfit Details
Elliatt Dress c/o (the neckline has been changed slightly) | Rebecca Minkoff Handbag c/o (also seen in this post) | Everlane Heels c/o | Asos Headband
For day three, I opted for this fun, colorful dress since I knew I’d have some fun, colorful shows to attend 😉 This dress and the other above are both from an Australian brand I love called Elliatt. They usually show during fashion week but sadly didn’t make it this year. However, I still wanted to show my support since I’m a huge fan of the brand. All of their items are so feminine, luxe and beautifully designed with the highest quality fabrics. And of course, I had to wear one of my Rebecca Minkoff bags to her presentation and it just happened to match perfectly with this dress! As for accessories, I’m sure you’re seeing a trend with all my headbands ha!
Son Jung Wan
Son Jung Wan is always a favorite! The designs are always such a treat to see – so colorful, unique and fun! I especially loved this season’s show for all the candy colored hues. The fabrics were STUNNING and I just loved all the dramatic details. Billowy sleeves, ruffles galore, satiny sheen and playful prints walked down the runway in the ultimate feast for the eyes. It’s really amazing to see what fabric can do and the fun shapes it can create when manipulated!
Rebecca Minkoff
You might be surprised to know that this was my first presentation ever! I wasn’t sure what to expect but I really enjoyed getting to see the designs up close. I thought the set design was brilliant – very thoughtfully executed and lovely to see the different “stations” full of rainbow hues. This collection was inspired by the modern working woman and I just love that! The difference with this presentation was that the designs were actually for Fall/Winter 2019 instead of Spring/Summer 2020 like all the shows… meaning that it was basically buy now, wear now. Many of the pieces are actually available for purchase as we speak!
Blogger Meetup
In between shows, I had the opportunity to meet up with some other bloggers at a rooftop lounge! It’s always so much fun to see old blogger friends and meet new ones during NYFW. In fact, one of my favorite parts about coming to the city is just meeting other people!
Chiara Boni la Petite Robe
Chiara Boni always delivers a fun-filled show exploding with vibrant color and joy! The show started off with a short singing/dancing performance which opened for the western inspired collection. A lot of the prints reminded me of resort wear – I mean, I know summer just ended but these definitely have me dreaming of my next vacation 😉 My very favorite is the black and white tulle skirt! How fun is that?
I hope you enjoyed my NYFW S/S 2020 Recap: Day 1-3! Stay tuned for more.
