The weekend is almost here – yay! I’ve been in non-stop work mode since last week and luckily today is my Friday so I’ll get a bit of a break 😉 I know it’s a rare sighting to see me in black but I just couldn’t pass this beauty up… it’s seriously the most perfect little black dress!

The Perfect Little Black Dress
When you think of black, you probably don’t think of me – ha! I generally gravitate toward lighter neutrals, pretty pastels or bold brights and my closet is proof of this. I always thought that black looked “too harsh” on my complexion and it just didn’t excite me as much color did. Over time, I’ve learned to love the magic that is the little black dress. It instantly elevates your style, ups the cool factor and looks chic as ever! It’s an item that looks great on everyone and the amazing thing is that even with something so universally flattering, we can still find a unique dress that is true to our style.
I’ve looked high and low for years for the perfect little black dress and I think I’ve finally found “the one.” For some people, that means a bold, architectural shape and for others, it means a minimal, classic fit. For me, it’s this… a dress made with the most delicate chiffon embellished with ornate embroidered florals. It has the tiered ruffle skirt that I love so much and the most beautiful off the shoulder detailing. I feel like it’s a piece that I can wear for pretty much any occasion.
For this outfit, I wanted to create something that I could wear to work so I styled it with the most adorable bow blazer! I added a gorgeous mauve handbag and heels to bring out the color of the rosettes and added a bit of sparkle with a jeweled headband and bracelet.
