How I Simplify My Summer Skincare Routine with Olay Whip

As the owner of two small businesses, time management is key which is why I love double duty products such as the Olay Total Effects Whip Active Moisturizer. Time saving tricks are essential to getting everything done and that includes simplifying my skincare routine. Olay is my go-to for convenient, effective and multi-purpose products that save time and lately, I’ve been loving the Total Effects Olay Whip! It’s the unicorn of moisturizers with a lightweight moisturizer and primer all in one! I’ve never used a moisturizer that also doubles as a primer so this is a game changer for my makeup routine.

My First Impression of Olay Whip

The texture of the moisturizer is very creamy and light as air… it almost looks like whipped cream! It’s very light and has clean, faint scent. Just by looking at it, it looks ultra moisturizing so I was unsure of how long it would take to absorb.

Even though the texture was super creamy, it was practically weightless on my skin and instantly absorbed for a flawless, matte finish. My skin felt moisturized but was velvety to the touch – it really did feel like a primer! Visually, my skin and pores looked smoother and my makeup seemed to just glide on.

How to Use Olay Whip

I loved how easy it was to use! Since this one has SPF, I used it in the morning right after I washed my face and before I put on my makeup. What I love is that the Active Rush Technology transforms the creamy texture to liquid once on the skin for instant absorption (and it really was instant!) so you don’t have to wait for it to dry before applying makeup. This is perfect for those days when you’re in a rush and don’t want to have to deal with multiple products or waiting for various products to absorb.

Why I Chose the Olay Whip SPF Version

I loved that there are three different versions to care for any skin concern and I love that each version comes with an SPF25 option. As someone that previously worked for a dermatologist, I cannot stress how important it is to wear SPF and this is something that I implement in my routine daily. I have very fair skin and burn easily so the choice to include SPF was a no brainer. However, in the past, I’ve encountered issues with SPF products not absorbing right away. They either take forever to absorb making my makeup routine much longer than I’d like or end up looking oily, which is not how I want my skin to look. I appreciate a product that not only includes this important and essential element in a multi-tasking moisturizer but that the result is a fast absorbing and matte finish. Even though this product isn’t waterproof, I love incorporating it into my beauty routine as an everyday SPF.

My Experience with Olay Whip

I noticed that my makeup stayed put all day (even without setting spray!) and even though it was over 100 degrees, my skin didn’t feel sticky and I didn’t encounter any shine. This is completely out of the norm because I noticed that typically in the early afternoon, my face tends to look shiny and sticky from the heat. I almost always have to blot my face throughout the day to not only mattify my skin but also to keep my bangs from looking oily from laying on my forehead all day. Even with the heat, my skin still felt breathable which isn’t the case for some moisturizers.  I was super impressed because I was running around outdoors practically all day (in fact, these photos were taken after that full day!) and neither my skin nor my makeup looked questionable.

Olay Whip Review

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this product! I have used plenty of Olay products in the past and have only had exceptional experiences but this one takes the cake. The creamy texture itself was the only thing I was unsure about initially just because of how moisturizing it looked but I have to say, that I was impressed by quickly it absorbed and loved that it didn’t leave any oily residue behind. I love that it includes so many important benefits in one product making it so simple to take care of my skin. At first, I wasn’t sure exactly how it would work as a primer, but that ended up being my favorite thing! It truly is the unicorn of moisturizers and I love how amazing it made both my skin and makeup look and feel! I’m excited to see how this affects my skin long term 🙂
