Breezy sunny days, picnics in the park and frilly gingham outfits always remind me of springtime. Today I’m sharing my dressed-up take on spring’s most casual fabric by showing you two ways to style a gingham skirt!
Outfit Details
Chicwish Sweater c/o (also available in white and black) | Cece Skirt c/o (also seen in this post) | Handbag | Zara Heels (old – similar here) | Alexandre de Paris Barrette c/o (similar here)
In a previous post, I styled this skirt with the matching top (see below). The print is actually available in three different styles (a jacket, skirt and top) so you can mix and match to your heart’s desire! I loved the flouncy ruffled hem on the skirt and the adorable Peter Pan collar on the top and thought they paired perfectly together! I love sets because they look incredible together AND separately. Even though I’m mainly a dress wearer, I will say that separates are much more efficient because the outfit combinations you can create with them are practically endless.
For this outfit, I decided to pair the skirt with this darling bow sweater. The light pink is a sweet addition to the gingham and I love the way the colors look together. If you’ve been a long time reader, then you know that it took me quite a while to fully embrace wearing black but now I adore it and think it looks so chic paired with my beloved pink <3 To finish off this outfit, I added a gorgeous pearl handbag (also seen in this post), cap toe heels and the cutest flower barrette. I Loe finding new ways to wear things so mot only did I style the barrette in my hair, but I also attached it to the bow on my sweater and used it as a brooch (photo #3).
Also, you guys have been asking to see my new glasses so here they areeee! It was actually my husband’s idea to include them lol. I had glasses when I was really young but haven’t worn them since. I use these mainly for driving at night so you probably won’t see them on here on often but I just love them! It was between this pair and a pink cat eye and I ultimately decided on these because I feel like they are not only stylish, feminine and unique but also classic, elegant and timeless. What do you think?
Which way would you style a gingham skirt? The skirt and top set or this skirt and sweater combo?
