It’s been EIGHT months since I last shared a life lately update and with everything going on, I thought now would be the perfect time to share some life updates! One of those updates is the progress that I’ve made in my girly closet room, which you can check out below 🙂

Girly Closet Room Tour

So….I guess I’ll start with the easy stuff – my girly closet room update and tour!

I FINALLY painted my standing wardrobe and oh my goodness, it looks so much better!! This is something that I’ve been putting off for a LONG time but I’m so glad that I set aside some time to do it. I’ve also been doing small clean outs little by little since the beginning of the year to make my closet a bit more manageable. As a fashion blogger, I obviously adore clothes and love having options but it’s gotten to the point where it’s hard to find anything. Thankfully, I’m currently in the process of making my wardrobe and closet room a bit more streamlined.

SOOOO many people have asked for a closet room tour and I’ve put it off for years because I wanted everything to be “perfect.” However, if I wait for that, it’s just never going to happen lol! So here you go – my pink and girly closet room tour! Watch the video below to get a peek into my feminine wardrobe and to see how I store everything. This is definitely still a work in progress and I’ll film an updated version later on but for now, I hope you enjoy!

Other Home Updates

Aside from my closet room, I’ve also been busy doing little updates around the house. We moved in a year and a half ago and recently, I’ve really been itching to make this place a home. This is actually a really big deal for so many reasons but mainly, I never wanted to get “too comfortable” in a space to where I felt like I couldn’t leave. I didn’t want to really go all out with decor until we found a permanent place in a city we loved. I know this probably sounds absolutely crazy but I have my reasons.

Anyway, lately I’ve really felt a big push to decorate a bit more so that’s what I’ve been doing. I just created a vintage inspired gallery wall in my office, bought a piano and decorated the little nook where it sits. I’ve also invested in some outdoor swing chairs and I’m currently in the process of painting my outdoor bistro set for the patio. I’d also like to get a plant stand for my succulents, some string lights and perhaps, an outdoor rug. I’ve also got a mirror for our fireplace but haven’t got around to hanging it yet so that’s also on the agenda.

Surprise Visit from My Brother

Many of you know that my little brother is currently active duty in the Navy (he left a year and a half ago but it seems like just yesterday). He surprised us with a visit earlier this month and we had such a blast! We ate lunch at our favorite diner, enjoyed a day out at Knott’s Berry Farm, watched the new Top Gun movie and of course, had our traditional sleepover full of movies, chicken wings, guitar playing and lots of laughs. He has since left to go back but we made a lot of good memories! His deployment is coming up very soon and he will likely be gone for a year or more. I’m mentally preparing myself but I know this is going to be a tough time for my mom. Any positive thoughts would be appreciated <3

Going to Oklahoma for the First Time

My husband and I have been doing a TON of traveling lately! We just took a last minute trip to Oklahoma last week to celebrate my step-dad’s birthday. Neither of us had ever been and it was quite nerve-racking to think about meeting an entirely new family for the first time. Let me tell you… it was a weekend to remember in the absolute best way! First off, I had no idea that Oklahoma was SO green! It was gorgeous! Secondly, the humidity was out of this world hahaha! Where I live in California, it’s gets HOT (like 110 degrees as the norm) but 105 with humidity is crazy hot, especially when you’re camping and spending the majority of your time outside lol.

Everything was so different from where I live – the landscape, the weather, the people, the dialect, the bugs! Oh my goodness, I have never seen so many strange, LARGE bugs in my life! Daddy long legs the size of my hand and the locusts… they were SO LOUD! In California, our bugs quiet LOL!! But let me tell you, lightning bugs might be the most magical things I’ve ever seen. I squealed with delight when I saw them for the first time. I even held one in my hand!!

Of course, my step-dad made sure that we got the real Oklahoma tour 😉 The first place we went after being picked up from the airport was Bass Pro Shop. Neither of us had ever been and holy moly, it’s huge!! We also ate at Braum’s, Whataburger and Swadley’s – all of which were delicious (although I still prefer In & Out to Whataburger lol). We also went bowling – something I haven’t done in years!!

While camping, we spent a lot of time eating home cooked meals, line dancing, singing karaoke and laughing. We also spent a couple of days at the lake floating around and boating (although the boat stopped working at one point and we began to paddle back to shore – a sight to see, I’m sure haha!). It was honestly such a blast and although, this was the first time meeting this part of my family, they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Southern hospitality is a real thing and I love it! I have never met such warm and welcoming people in my life. This whole trip gave me the warm and fuzzies <3

Floral Shoe Collection Launch

Lastly, my shoe collection is finally in the shipping phase – woo hoo!! I cannot wait to finally see them in person. This has been in the making since March and I’m so excited to see them come to life. You can check out the shoes here and here (get 30% off with code presaleLIZZIE)! These are very limited edition and some sizes are already sold out so be sure to snag them up before they disappear completely 😉

I’ve got SOOOO much more to share but this post is already getting pretty long so I’ll save it for the next one ;-).

Glad we got to catch up! Thank you so much for reading <3
