So… I’m wearing jeans – *gasp!* As you know, my wardrobe is made up almost entirely of dresses so wearing jeans has become quite a special occasion 🙂 I’m very picky so it’s taken many, many years to find the right ones and today, I’m sharing what I look for in the perfect pair of jeans!

I have a love-hate relationship with jeans and I’ll be the first to admit that it’s usually due to the fit. Not only am I pretty petite (I’m 4’11”) but I’m also very pear-shaped! Not the best combo for jeans haha! In the past, my fitting room experience usually looked a little like this – I’d find a pair that worked for my strong soccer player thighs but it would gape severely at the waist and if I went down a size, I couldn’t even get them up my legs. When I first started the blog, my waist size was three sizes smaller than my hips so trust me when I say that it was impossible to find a good pair of jeans that not only fit my shape but also my height (I frequently have to cuff them under). When Levi’s discontinued my prized supreme curve jeans, I didn’t know what to do. Jean shopping is already frustrating enough!
I tried Mott & Bow for the first time a little over two years ago and I fell in love! The high rise skinnies are definitely the perfect pair of jeans – they are super comfortable, flattering and they come in a variety of lengths. Plus they wash well and last forever! I would honestly buy them in every color. At first I wasn’t so sure since I couldn’t try them on in person but I went with my regular size and they fit perfectly (although they do offer to send two sizes just in case you’re unsure!). They have also added a variety of tops including this gorgeous cashmere sweater! It’s the perfect shade of blush pink and is true to size and super soft!
So sad to put these away for a few months since our triple digit temps are back… BUT we’re heading to Lake Tahoe tomorrow for a few days (birthday trip – yay!!) and the high is 60 so at least they will keep me cozy as we explore 🙂 So excited to celebrate the big day with you all next week but until then, make sure you follow along with our adventure on Instagram stories!
Have a great weekend!
