There’s been a lot of talk about the Shark blow dryer and as someone that has been using it for almost two years, I’m here to share my honest thoughts. If you haven’t heard, this is a similar hair dryer to Dyson but unique in it’s own way (and not as pricey). Even then… is it worth the price? Does it live up to the hype? Read on for the pros and cons in my honest Shark Hair Dryer Review!

Shark Hair Dryer Review
What is the Shark Hair Dryer?
The Shark HyperAIR Hair Dryer is hair dryer that features HyperAIR IQ Technology. This combines ionized air along with high-velocity heated air for a quick drying time with virtually no heat damage. It also comes with a variety of tools to create beautiful hairstyles that last! If you love the blowouts you get from the hairstylist, you will love this hair tool! The negative ion generator also helps to increase shine and smoothness and decrease frizz and fly-aways.
How to use the HyperAIR Shark Hair Dryer?
You can use how you would use any other hair dryer! You can also use the attachments to create a salon-worthy blowout! There are also three heat and airflow settings that can be customized however you’d like. The Shark blow dryer can also be used on all hair types!
Shark Hair Dryer Attachments
The IQ 2-in-1 Concentrator shapes and dries the hair in fewer steps while the IQ Styling Brush uses a combo of nylon and boar bristles to dry and straighten hair while leaving behind a shiny appearance. Personally, I love using the styling brush for a smooth and shiny finish!
Shark Hair Dryer Before and After
The first time I used this hair dryer, I was blown away! It dried my hair faster than any other hair dryer. I have fairly thin hair anyway but this dries it and styles in about five minutes, which is incredible! I did find my hair to be much more soft and shiny after drying. While the styling brush did take some practice, I think it’s a really unique and useful tool! The only thing I don’t love about the Shark blow dryer is how heavy it is. It can be a bit difficult to maneuver at times.
How much is the Shark Hair Dryer?
The Shark HyperAIR Hair Dryer is about $230!
How well does the Shark Blow Dryer hold up over time?
I’ve been using mine for almost two years and it’s still going strong with no issues! It’s never stopped working on me or overheated. I should also mention that I only use it about 2-3 times a week for about 5 minutes each time. When I’m not shooting, I air dry my hair. While my hair does still look smooth and shiny after using, it’s not as prominent as when it was brand new. However, I am still very pleased with the performance of this blow dryer and how long it’s lasted me thus far.
Prior to this, I used T3 Micro, which I love! Their blow dryers are also amazing and I’ve never had any issues. My older one is about 5-6 years old and still going strong! Before that, I typically went for the cheaper options at Target like Conair. Unsurprisingly, these never lasted long. I was lucky if they lasted a year with minimal use. People always ask about the Shark Hair Dryer versus Dyson but I actually don’t have any experience with Dyson. I’ve heard great things though!
Is the Shark Hair Dryer worth it?
This is my first experience with this hair dryer and I would say yes, it’s worth it! It’s definitely an investment but so far, it’s paid off tremendously. I would highly recommend trying it out for yourself!
Where to buy Shark Hair Dryer?
You can, of course, buy this hair dryer directly from the Shark website as well as retailers like Macy’s and Bloomingdales. There is also a pretty pink version available at Dillard’s!
