This dress is a showstopper if I ever saw one! At first I thought the frills were too much (even for me *gasp!*) but after I saw it in person, I concluded that it’s actually pretty perfect 😉 It really is just so gorgeous in every way – from the color to the fabric to the ruffles to the bow <3 I went all out and styled it with my favorite beaded rose handbag, a gorgeous pair of embellished shoes in the same rosy pink hue and the prettiest pearl barrette. Aside from my birthday, this pink ruffled tulle dress would also be perfect for a wedding, tea party or summer soirée! Also, I think it works really well for all heights. I’m 4’11” so hems can be a bit tricky sometimes, but I love where the hem of this one hits.

I feel like life lately has been one big crazy event after another (in the best way, of course) haha! I feel like I’ve been all over the place and things are just finally starting to settle down. I’ll start with a health update since a lot of you have been asking.

So far, it’s going really well and I think that this really was the problem all along. So crazy, right? I started my elimination diet immediately after I shared my results earlier in this month and I’ve been experimenting with it as I go. I completely eliminated everything minus yeast because it’s literally everywhere lol (even in my dairy-free substitutes!). But that’s the next thing to go. A week after I started the diet, we decided to eat dinner at our favorite burger place in town. I usually don’t feel gross after eating there and I wanted to experiment so I decided to keep the cheese on the burger and ranch with my fries. I bloated. This past weekend, I ate breaded chicken strips with ranch. My waist gained four inches and I looked pregnant! So now I know for sure that this is the issue and I’ll be eliminating the problem foods moving forward. I’ve found replacements for certain things (some are pretty tasty, some not so much haha!) but let me you, dairy-free options are very limited at the grocery store. And forget about yeast-free haha! It’s like learning to eat again and while eating at home has been surprisingly easy, eating out is a different story. We went to Olive Garden a few nights ago to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday and after looking at the menu for a good fifteen minutes, I came to the conclusion that I could eat like two things and sadly it was not my fave, fettuccini alfredo. Woe is me haha! I also started to feel a little strange last week and thought it might be deficiency of some sort. I added in a calcium supplement along with some nuts and that seems to have done the trick. I feel like I’m learning things everyday and know it will take awhile for me to get used to it but I actually am having fun experimenting with making different things. The best part is that I feel SOOOOO much better! My stomach is shrinking, my skin is clearing up, I’m sleeping better, my migraines are completely gone and I have much more energy! I feel like a completely different person 😀 Also health related – I do still have carpal tunnel in both hands so I haven’t played guitar in a month. I usually play every single day so this is pretty torturous lol. I’m expected to still be out of commission for a least a few more weeks but I am very excited to not only get back to playing music but also start back at the gym and my yoga classes. Overall, things are going really well!

My little brother is graduating from high school next week. I cannot believe it! We are very close and to see him grow up right before my eyes is crazy. I feel like I’ve been more of a second mom to him over the years and I guess I just never realized how fast time passes by. It’s such bittersweet moment. My niece also just turned two and we are celebrating her birthday this weekend. I feel like it’s these types of things that make me really think about life, how fast it goes by and why it’s so important cherish each special moment. Maybe it’s because I finally have a clear mind, but this is something I have been thinking about a lot lately… especially when it concerns my future and how I spend my time. Right now, I’m in the middle of making one of the biggest decisions of my life. I’ve made lists, conjured up spreadsheets, asked for signs (and got them!) and while deep down I know what the right decision is, it doesn’t make it any less difficult. In fact, it makes it more difficult lol. Still trying to sort this one out but that’s a story for a different day 🙂

With the craziness of the past few weeks, I’m very much looking forward to a relaxing Memorial Day weekend. Yay!

What are you plans for the holiday weekend?
