NYFW recap

Happy Friday, beauties!

I am finally back from fashion week! I wasn’t expecting to take a whole week off the blog and even though I thought I had planned everything out better this year, it was just too overwhelming and ended up being a welcome break 🙂 This year was MUCH busier than last and I had so many incredible (and not so incredible) experiences. Read on for my NYFW recap of day one!

Arriving:

My roomie from last year, Anca and I were scheduled to attend an event as soon as we arrived. However, nature had different plans and delayed her flight causing us to miss the event. We were both exhausted anyway so it wasn’t too upsetting. We decided to celebrate our arrival with some Shake Shack! It was the first time for both of us and it definitely did not disappoint 😉

Day One:

While the day before was hot and humid, today ended up being much cooler with light showers here and there. I knew it was the perfect opportunity to wear this amazing embellished dress! If you followed along on my Instagram stories, then you got a sneak peak of my first NYFW outfit and got to experience all the events of the day first hand. Day one was by far the craziest day ever!

Indonesian Diversity

The first show of the day was Indonesian Diversity: a small group of diverse designers. I personally loved the creativeness of the more avant garde looks.

RewardStyle Rooftop Party

After the show, we ended up at the RewardStyle Rooftop Party. I loved catching up with old blogger friends and making new ones. I always love meeting people I follow in real life! The view was nothing short of amazing and I loved the way the event was set up. We only stayed for about an hour or so because we had another show to get to. However, once we got to the show, the venue was overbooked so they weren’t able to let us in. I have never missed a show in my life so this was super upsetting (especially since we were there on time and had seats).

Eliza J Showroom

We decided to go to the Eliza J Showroom early and I’m so glad we did! I went last year and thought it was amazing, but this year I got to see the whole space and just about died. As if the showroom wasn’t gorgeous enough, the new collection is insanely beautiful! I literally would have walked out with every piece if I could have. Let’s just say that you guys definitely won’t be disappointed in the SS19 collection or the new line they are coming out with (check out my stories for a sneak peak).

Michael Costello

This year I had SO many last minute invitations to shows and this was one of them. Michael Costello was one of my Project Runway faves and I’ve been a fan ever since. Seeing Leanne Marshall’s collection come to life last year was a dream and having the opportunity to see Michael’s this year was incredible. I loved all the flowy fabrics and fun prints of this resort style collection!

Afffair!

Michael Costello ended right as I needed to be at Afffair! so I was afraid I was going to miss out completely. I ended up getting there half an hour late and luckily, the show hadn’t started yet. This collection was one of my very favorites! Every single piece was immersed in the most beautiful embellishments. It was absolute perfection!

Lulu’s Style Studio

This was my first year attending the Lulu’s Style Studio and it’s the event that I was most looking forward to. We were able to bring home a couple of items from the Lulu’s boutique along with various beauty products from other vendors. In true blogger fashion, there were Instagrammable photoshoot opportunities everywhere! I appreciated that they had actual food because by the time I arrived at the event, I was starved from not eating ALL day haha! I also loved networking and meeting up with other bloggers – always one of my favorite things to do!

Overall, day one was an amazing (and exhausting) start to this year’s fashion week! I’ll be sharing the rest of my NYFW recap’s (and outfits) next week 😉

If you watched my stories, what was your favorite part of NYFW?
