At the beginning of the year, I shared my goals for 2021. But this year was a little different as I focused many of my goals on personal growth. Now that we are one third of the way through the year, I thought it would be a good time to sit down, re-evaluate my goals and start planning out the rest of the year (and into 2022)! Read on for three tips for a successful mid-year goal check in and get a sneak peek at the latest from Erin Condren!

I’m no stranger to goal check ins – I usually do it once a month when I write my Month in Review posts! 😉 But I’ve also been doing much more in depth check ins around the 3-4 month mark and it’s time for another one. For the past year, I’ve been super focused on personal and professional goals but I actually didn’t really get to plan much in terms of travel or longer term goals. Seeing as things are quickly changing, I’m actually starting to plan for NEXT year. That’s right. I’m already planning for 2022. A little crazy? Maybe haha!
Anyway, Erin Condren JUST came out (like literally today) with their highly anticipated 18 month LifePlanner and the most adorable accessories! I’ve been using Erin Condren LifePlanners for yearssss and I just love this one so much! Currently, I have a 2021 planner but since I’m already planning out my travel calendar for 2022, I decided to get a head start with their latest LifePlanner. I also got a ton of accessories like fun markers, floral washi tape, stickers, snap in to-do lists, and a cute organizer bag to put it all in. I also love that I can change out the front and back covers any time… but honestly, I’m so smitten over this lilac floral design so I’ll probably never change it haha!
Having a 2021-2022 planner makes it so much easier to plan everything out and the accessories aid in organizer and aesthetic (because we know I’m all about that). But what is a mid year goal check in?
Celebrate Your Successes
I think it’s always important to celebrate your successes, milestones and achievements, no matter how “small” they may seem. I know that so many of us are focusing on the bigger goals or just the act of achieving goals and then once we hit it, it’s on to the next. Instead of moving on so quickly, savor the moment and celebrate. You did this and you deserve it. And maybe write a little note in your planner so you can look back to see how far you’ve come in your journey 🙂
Re-Evaluate Your Goals
This is the time to re-evaluate your goals. For my monthly check-ins, I typically just do a quick check in to make sure I’m on task. this is where I make sure that I’m doing all the little nitty gritty things in order to achieve those bigger goals. The mid-year check in, however, is where you should really re-evaluate your goals (do this between 3-6 months). During this process, sit down and take a look at everything because over time, things can change. Perhaps there are things that aren’t working out the way you thought they would. Re-evaluate if that is still something worth pursuing, if you need to try a different way or if you need to extend the timeline. Maybe you were a little overly ambitious at the start of the year with all the hype and there are a few things that are no longer on your goal radar. Perhaps there are things that you have been procrastinating on that really should be more of a priority. Or maybe you’ve been re-inspired and want to add to your list or change it completely. How you do this is really up to you but I think that it’s important in maintaining focus. I also think it’s important to be flexible. Many times, goals take longer to achieve, we give ourselves unrealistic timelines or we don’t hit them at all. Give yourself grace and don’t beat yourself up over it. This process is meant to gauge where you are and hopefully, will re-inspire and motivate you to push forward.
Plan for the Future
Now comes the fun part – the planning process! Start creating realistic timelines and start mapping out important dates. Since travel and spending time with my family has become increasingly important to me during this time, I’ve started plotting down birthday, anniversary and holiday celebration dates so that I can start brainstorming how to make it super special. I’ve also started mapping out some potential travel dates and just the thought of it is making my heart so happy! Having a planner is so fun for that reason – you have something to look forward to 🙂 And of course, after re-evaluating my initial goals from the beginning of the year, I’ve started mapping out timelines for longterm goals and creating deadlines for some of the smaller ones that I’ve been procrastinating on.
I hope you enjoyed this mid-year goal check in and a sneak peek all the new Erin Condren pretties! These officially launch today for EC Insiders so make sure to sign up to snag them early! Tomorrow they will. be released to the public 🙂
