Yesterday, my husband and I decided to drive back out to the mountains to check out some hiking trails. You may remember the 10 mile hike my brother and I did last week? Haha!! Well, thankfully, we trimmed our 10 miles down to 5 this time and tried out a different trail. Instead of hiking an entire mountain and back, we took the shuttle out to where we came down last time and hiked along the canyon valley. The trail meandered along the bottom of the mountain through tall grasses, dense wetland and along the river. It’s still pretty green with sparse wildflower patches, but I know it won’t last long so I’m taking full advantage before it hits 100 degrees over here.
This is the start of week three of my Whole30 journey. Woo! Halfway done! If you don’t know what whole30 is, it’s basically a “diet” where you eliminate all dairy, legumes, grains, junk food, sugar, peanuts, etc. Pretty much all the good stuff! I’m not really doing this for weight loss, but more as an experiment to see if a certain food group is triggering my acne, bloating and fatigue. Honestly, it’s been very difficult this past week. I’ve actually been doing amazing at not caving in to my cravings but I’m getting tired of eating the same foods, so I’m hoping to venture out and try some different recipes this week. I’ve been eating tons of meat, salads, frozen fruits, nuts and have added some veggies in. If you know me, this is a SUPER big deal. Veggies are my arch enemy, but it’s for the best lol! I’ve been having mad cravings for all things sweet, especially chocolate chip cookies. I also really missing my ranch dressing and cheese right about now…I seriously put them on everything. No cravings though, I just miss the taste. 🙂 The first week, I was feeling very weak. This past week was much better! Not super energetic but better. My skin is also almost completely clear of acne and my clothes are fitting better! Yay!
Enough about that! This bright pink skirt has made many appearances on this blog and for good reason. The color is incredible, the length is great and brightens up any outfit I pair it with. In this case, a light pink floral button up, nude bow heels and a bone-colored shoulder bag. Pretty gold accessories finish off the look, including my favorite Kendra Scott pendant that I’ve literally worn everyday since I received it in my RocksBox!
