Transitioning a Tweed Dress from Day to Night

When I think of tweed, I think of a chic daytime set for work. You don’t usually see the fabric used for evening looks but today I’m showing you how a tweed dress can easily transition from day to night and still look amazing!

Originally, I had two looks for this post (a day and night look) but I decided to break it up in two different posts 😉 You’ll see the “day” look post here along with a post that I’ve been waiting for share for years!! You can also see a sneak peak below 😉

My schedule is typically pretty crazy and I often find myself running from one thing to another. In the past, there would often be times that I’d have a more formal event or dinner to attend right after work with no time to change in between. That’s when double duty pieces come in handy.

This tweed dress works perfectly for a day to night transition with a few minor changes. For day, this sleeveless tweed dress can be worn alone, with a blazer or jacket or with a feminine blouse or sweater underneath. I’d pair it with closed toed shoes and a tote… and ta da – work ready!

For evening, I’d switch out the blazer or blouse with a faux fur caplet or stole. I’d also swap my accessories for a pair of metallic scrappy heels, a gorgeous clutch and some beautiful jewelry. You can also put on a darker shade of lipstick, create a quick smokey eye, re-style your hair or even add in a few hair accessories such as a trio of ultra sleek barrettes down one side to create a different look.

How would you wear tweed for evening?
