Hydrate
It’s not enough to just use hydrating skincare products! Hydrating from the inside out is essential when it comes to overall health and skincare, which is why it’s important to monitor your water intake. Many times, we can get busy throughout the day and forget to drink water. To ensure I’m drinking enough water every day, I use a refillable water bottle with hourly markers. And when I’m craving some extra flavor, I infuse my water with fruits (lemon, ginger and mint are my faves!) or add a flavor packet (I love strawberry lemonade flavoring)!
Diet
I never realized how much diet affected skincare until I went through my recent elimination diet! It’s so crazy to see how much food can affect our skin and our overall health! Brightly colored fruits and vegetables, along with leafy greens, have an assortment of nutrients and antioxidants that help with inflammation. Limiting dairy products might help as well, since this food group tends to include hormones that worsen acne. Excluding dairy from my diet personally improved my skin so much!
