First off, how dreamy is this dress? I’m obsessed with the pink floral print! When I saw it, I just knew I had to have it and I’ve worn it at least four times since I got it lol ( I even wore it to pick up my car this past weekend)! It came with a belt, lots of ruffles and of course, a gorgeous statement collar. I love this collar specifically because for most items out there, the collar is actually contrasted but in this case, it’s made with the same fabric as the dress giving the illusion that it’s just another layer of ruffles. But upon closer inspection, you can definitely tell that it’s a collar and I just love the retro vibe that it gives off. This dress is also super lightweight and I love the flowy material! It paired perfectly with my white handbag, pearl headband and seashell flats 🙂 And how perfect does this outfit match the background of the pretty pink Hofsas House from our recent Carmel trip!
The statement collar trend, in general, is by far my favorite of the year because of the vintage aesthetic. You all know that I am a huge fan of vintage fashion and it’s pretty obvious that many previous time periods inspire my personal style! I think it’s cute, quirky and super fashionable! But I will say that it’s a trend that takes bit of confidence to pull off especially with the more exaggerated styles. If you’re new to the statement collar trend, I’d start off with a smaller collar with details like embroidery, embellishments, prints or an interesting design like scallops. As you become more comfortable, start experimenting with larger styles, fascinating shapes and designs with more extravagant details. This is definitely a trend for those that don’t take fashion so serious 😉 But I also love that there are options for pretty much any fashion style and comfort level making this a very wearable and inclusive trend.

You’re going to think this is so crazy, but anything that is even remotely around my neck feels so constricting and makes it harder for me to swallow. Even if it’s not super tight, so now I know not to do it at all. Not sure if it’s heartburn or what, but seeing this collar just instantly makes me know it’s going to be uncomfortable for me personally hahaha! It’s so cute though!
No, not crazy at all! It’s more like a crewneck cut with a collar attached but I know that even that can be too high for some. I actually get the same feeling if it’s too high on my neck (if it’s looser it’s okay) so I completely understand! It was worse when I was younger. But you’re fine! <3
