Quarantine Skincare Routine & Sephora Sale Faves

Elizabeth Hugen of Lizzie in Lace shares her quarantine skincare routine and Sephora sale faves

Being isolated at home for the past few weeks has given me more free time to pursue new hobbies, work on projects and of course, up my skincare routine. Being as skincare obsessed as I am, I’ve always had a pretty intense skincare routine but being home alone for the majority of the day has given me more time to be consistent with it (and even incorporate a few new things and try out new products).

Below, I’ve mapped out the exact steps of my typical daily quarantine skincare routine along with some of my favorite products to use (these are all Sephora sale faves!). I was very much inspired by the Korean skincare routine basics and from there, I tweaked it to fit my needs 🙂

Quarantine Skincare Routine – Morning

Cleanser

I usually cleanse my face in the shower. I find it so much easier and more convenient!

Gentle Exfoliator

I follow my cleanser with a gentle exfoliator every other day.

Toner

After showering, I use a toner to balance my skin and prep for skincare products.

Mask

I use different types of masks so this step varies. For the clay/mud masks and peel-off masks, I apply before toner. For more hydrating masks, I apply after toner. For sheet masks, I apply after serum.

Essence

This allows the serum to work more effectively and I think it’s a step that a lot of people don’t utilize.

Serum (with jade roller)

I apply a lightweight serum with a cold jade roller to de-puff. Unlike moisturizers, serums penetrate the skin to revive from the inside out.

Eye Cream

I apply a lightweight eye cream by gentle tapping my finger around the eye are and finishing up with a metal applicator for further de-puffing.

Light Moisturizer

I apply a lightweight moisturizer as the final step. I love using daytime moisturizers that absorb quickly and unlike serums, they sit on top of the skin offering protection.

SPF

If my moisturize doesn’t have SPF, then I’ll add this as well to my face and chest.

Mist

Throughout the day, I keep my skin hydrating with mist (usually rosewater).

Quarantine Skincare Routine – Night

Cleanse

If I’m wearing makeup, then I remove with cleansing balm or oil, follow with a water-based cleanser and finish with micellar water. If I’m not wearing makeup, I just use micellar water.

Gentle Exfoliator

I use this one once a week. I also LOVE the one in this post!

Toner

Essence

Serum

I apply this with my sonic eraser and use heavier serums at night.

Facial Oil

I apply heavier oils after the serum and lighter oils before serum. It just depends on the thickness and consistency. I use different oils depending on my skin’s needs and sometimes layer them!

Eye Cream

I use my heavier eye creams at night.

Moisturizer or Sleep Mask

I apply heavier creams at night. Every other night, I apply a hydrating sleep mask instead of moisturizer.

Lip Mask

This is something I’ve been doing as long as I can remember but I always apply a lip mask, oil or gloss at night. Really, just whatever I have on hand! I especially love the sticky lipgloss (I apply this one an hour before bed).

I hope you loved learning about my quarantine skincare routine!
