It’s no secret that I love a good skincare tool (and trust me, I’ve tried SO many of them). One thing I haven’t tried, however, is a microdermabrasion tool. I also haven’t seen many PMD Beauty reviews for this particular tool so I thought I would share my honest thoughts along with a before and after of my results. Did it live up to the hype? What is PMD Beauty?
PMD Beauty is a beauty brand that offers a variety of innovative beauty tools for women and men along with skincare products and more. They are, perhaps, best known for their high-quality skincare tools. PMD Beauty products are backed by science and use unique cutting edge technology that is developed in house.
Is PMD Beauty legit?
Yes, PMD Beauty is legit! It’s a real brand that began a decade ago. Surprisingly, this is actually my first experience with them but they are highly reviewed by many!
PMD Beauty: How to Use Personal Microderm Elite Pro
I was actually very nervous to use the PMD Beauty Microderm tool initially as I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ve never used anything like this before and I definitely didn’t want to do it wrong. After watching a few video tutorials, I felt comfortable enough to give it a go and it was SO much easier than I thought it would be! It also didn’t hurt at all. In fact, it was quite relaxing hehe!
Here is a step by step
- Cleanse your face and dry completely.
- For the first time, use the white disc to try it out on a small area of your skin. I first tried it on my arm and then on my face (just a small portion – not the entirety). The main sensation I felt was the sucking and it took a few seconds to get used to.
- After trying it out, I switched to the grey disc by gently pulling off the white and replacing it with the grey. This is the first one you should start with. I highly recommend NOT using another until your skin is used to this one.
- Screw the cap back on, power on the tool and use the lowest setting.
- I start with my cheek area by gently pulling my skin upward toward my ear and gliding the tool from my chin towards my ear (starting at the jawline). From there, I just repeat and move it up each time. Don’t go over the same area twice and don’t leave the tool on one spot for long. You will just gently glide it over the skin one time. Also, do NOT apply pressure. The suction and exfoliator will do everything for you.
- Repeat this process on both sides of the face, the forehead, chin and nose area (do not treat under the eyes). That’s it!
- When you are finished, rinse off your face with water to remove the dead skin. You’ll also want to rinse the cap and filter with warm water and soap after each use.
- After the treatment, they recommend using a hydrating sheet mask, serum or moisturizer.
How often to use PMD microdermabrasion?
PMD Beauty suggests using their microderm tool every 5-7 days. My skin is more on the sensitive side so I’ve been using it once a week! I would not recommend using multiple times a week, however, as your skin needs time to rejuvenate after the top layer has been removed.
Does PMD Microdermabrasion Work?
The PMD Beauty Personal Microderm is a dermatologist grade microdermabrasion treatment tool that utilizes spinning disc with aluminum oxide crystals to gently exfoliate the top layer of dead skin. This triggers the cell turnover process which results in the production of fresh, new layer of skin. The vacuum suction actually increases collagen and elastin production as well as blood flow to the skin.
By doing this treatment consistently on a weekly basis, you are replacing the old, damaged skin with new. This is said to help skincare become more effective by penetrating up to 20x deeper as well as minimize pores, dark spots, hyper pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles while also evening out skin tone and texture.
PMD Beauty Before and After
(After is 6 weeks into my treatments)
I used the PMD Beauty Microderm once a week for six weeks to test it out. After the first use, I found it to be a very simple and relaxing process! Overall, it seems like my skin tone is more even and my skin looks and feels smoother (the smoothness was immediate). The main thing I noticed is that my skin looks so much more radiant and bright. It seems to have a glow about it! I’ve also noticed that my makeup goes on much more smoothly and looks better overall.
PMD Beauty Personal Microderm Elite Pro Review in Cherry Blossom
Now for my PMD Beauty Personal Microderm Elite Pro Review and overall thoughts! Firstly, the Cherry Blossom color is SO gorgeous! I just love it. It matches my pink bathroom and looks super pretty. I also love that it comes with a variety of discs and additional caps for body and blackheads.
Secondly, it was much easier to use than I thought it would be! I’ve never used anything like this before but I do love a good skincare treatment tool. After a bit of practice, the treatments have been very simple and effective (in my opinion). My skin is so smooth, glowing and looks more youthful. I can definitely tell the difference after six weeks. Can’t wait to see how this does long term!
Is PMD Beauty worth it?
Totally! The PMD Beauty Personal Microderm Pro is roughly the cost of just one microdermabrasion treatment elsewhere. You can give yourself weekly treatments in the comfort of your own home! Not only is it cost effective but I find it to be very relaxing as well and have implemented this into my weekly self-care routine.
