Parfums de Marly Valaya vs Valaya Exclusif

Fragrance is my favorite everyday accessory and I have quite the collection of feminine perfumes! Today I’m sharing Parfums de Marly Valaya along with their latest feminine fragrance launch, Valaya Exclusif! Read on for a full review along with first impressions and a scent test of both scents. Parfums de Marly Valaya Review

Packaging

The packaging is, as always, beautifully designed and high quality. I love the attention to detail on both the interior and exterior. The velvet lining protects the fragrance and looks incredibly luxurious.

PDM Valaya Bottle Design

Like the other fragrances from the Parfums de Marly feminine collection, the bottle design is very similar in design aside from the color. I have the entire collection and each hue very much represents the scent and feel of each fragrance. That’s one of my favorite things about Parfums de Marly! Everything is SO well thought out and perfectly connected.

The Valaya bottle includes a stunning clear frosted glass that exudes femininity, sensuality and lightness. The baroque style details on the bottle and elegant metal top incorporate their signature French style in an eye-catching way. There is also a dreamy braided tassel and sparkling jewel to accessorize an already gorgeous bottle.

First Impressions of Valaya eau de Parfum

I shared the very moment that I smelled it for the first time in my video review below. Let me tell, it did not disappoint! Like all PDM fragrances, the scent perfectly matched the color and design of the bottle. It’s light, airy, romantic and ethereal. The fragrance is incredibly feminine, elegant and pure, like a ray of sunshine.

This scent includes a lovely mix of fruit, floral and woodsy notes. It start off with a blast of citrus and transforms into a stunning white floral. If there was ever a “perfume ad perfume,” this is it. When I smell it, I just picture myself in a light pink tulle dress running through the most colorful and beautiful flower field with the warmth of the sunshine kissing my skin. It’s really that dreamy!

I think that Valaya would be ideal for the spring and summer seasons. It can easily be worn from day to night and I do think that it has potential to become a signature scent. It would also be a very pretty wedding day scent! It’s incredible how versatile it is.

Longevity

Usually lighter scents like this only last 6-8 hours on me but surprisingly, this lasted the whole day! In fact, it actually lingered for a good 24 hours. Very impressed!

Parfums de Marly just launched their latest addition to the feminine fragrance family, Valaya Exclusif! It’s just as beautiful as Valaya but quite different. Check out my comparison below!

Valaya Parfums de Marly Notes

• Top Notes: Velvety Almond, Bergamot, Mandarin

• Base Notes: Akigalawood, Sandalwood, Ambrofix, Vanilla

First Impressions of Valaya Exclusif eau de Parfum

The bottle design and packaging is VERY similar to the original Valaya. The only difference I see at first glance is the silver metallic lettering on Exclusif. As for the scent, it’s wildly different yet similar, which is so interesting! The two fragrances share a handful of the same notes – fruity with a woodsy undertone.

Valaya Exclusif opens with a burst of white florals and citrus notes with sandy undertones. It transforms over the first few minutes from floral and fruity explosion to a woodsy wonderland. The symphony of notes together is what makes it so unique and dreamy. It’s a full-bodied fragrance that is deep and sensual yet elegant and romantic. When I smelled it for the first time, I envisioned myself on a beach at sunset with a cool breeze and a variety of beautiful scents surrounding me.

In my opinion, Valaya Exclusif would be perfect for any season, especially fall. It’s would be lovely for date night or an evening wedding and also has the potential to become a signature scent for all day wear.

Valaya vs Valaya Exclusif

Both share the Bergamot, Mandarin, Orange and Akigalawood notes. They would be great wedding scents – Valaya for daytime and Exclusif for night.  These fragrances smell very different but you can tell that they are part of the same family. Exclusif seems to build on Valaya to create an even more robust scent.

Which Valaya should you get?

Valaya is:

• Light and airy
• Very fruity with hints of floral and wood
• Perfect for daytime
• Great for spring and summer

Valaya Exclusif is:

• Deep and robust
• Woodsy with hints of fruit and floral
• Perfect for evening
• Great year round (but ideal for fall)

Overall Thoughts on Parfums de Marly Valaya & Valaya Exclusif

I LOVE all Parfums de Marly fragrances but these are quickly becoming two of my all-time favorites. PDM Delina is forever my fave but this is right up there with it, which says a lot. They smelled exactly how I imagined them to, but even better!
