nyfw recap

Happy Monday, lovelies!

I hope you all had the best weekend! I’m STILL sick so the majority of mine was spent sleeping…but if I’m being honest, I am actually enjoying all the sleep haha! Anyway today I’m sharing my final NYFW recap of day four along with a sneak peak of the gorgeous property we stayed in *swoon*

Two words: Window Seat. When I first saw photos of it, I was sold and seeing it in person was even better. I stayed with nine other girls (8 bloggers and 1 photographer) and with two spacious levels and an abundance of living space, there was plenty of room for all of us. The apartment had a lot of character but was modernized with beautiful, luxe decor. The natural light throughout the space and views of the city were probably my favorite thing 😉 Make sure to check out my entire apartment tour on my Instagram stories!

Unlike last year, this year brought a lot of constant changes in my schedule. I was constantly getting last minute invitations for shows and events and with the weather being so unpredictable, cancellations came as well. Originally, I had a full day planned for day four, but it ended up being the worst weather-wise so a lot of events, meetings and shows in my schedule were either cancelled or moved. The one I was most excited to see, Lela Rose, ended up being moved to the day I was flying out 🙁 It definitely broke my heart a little bit, but things happen. Instead, I embraced my newly open schedule as best as I could….and it ended up being a welcome break from the chaos of the previous three days.

Blank Slate Tea Room

Blank Slate hosted the roomies for the cutest lunch (all pink everything – I definitely blended in haha)! The decor was a pink paradise and I got a Rose Tea Latte to match 😉 I had the yummiest turkey sandwich and owner was the absolute sweetest! It was as Instagrammable as it was delicious!

Corina and Foley

The roomies and I got to visit the gorgeous Corina and Foley showroom. I loved looking at the fall collection and chatting with other bloggers over a delicious spread of meats, cheeses, fruit, veggies and nuts (soooo good btw!).

Rent the Runway Sample Sale

This was my first time ever going to a sample sale and let’s just say that it felt like Disneyland being surrounded by gorgeous discounted designer clothing! I ended up walking away with a gorgeous knit coat and the prettiest floral dress <3

For the remainder of the day, we meandered the streets of New York in the rain. I got to see the beautiful flatiron building in person and ate Thai food for the first time and even though it was definitely a more laid back day, I enjoyed every second of it and thought it was the perfect end to the my second fashion week.

Going Home

I was super sad to this leave this year. Not only do I loveeee fashion week, but I was incredibly sad to say goodbye to our amazing apartment and my incredible roomies. I really lucked out this year and I’m so happy that I got to meet these incredible ladies in person and develop what I hope to be long-lasting friendships <3 Kristin and I were the last to leave so we grabbed a bite at the most beautiful restaurant before departing. We were right across from Grand Central Station so of course, I had to go inside and check that off my bucket list 😉 It was a dream! I did have a minor freak out when I realized that the airport bus was going to possibly make me miss my flight. I got there three minutes after check in and they told me that they were going have to have to put me on another flight home. After waiting for another ten minutes, she told me to go ahead and get on my original flight. After going through security, I ran the fastest I’ve ever run in my entire life and ended up making it my flight JUST as they were closing the gate. It was a full flight and although my seat was in the back, it ended up working to my benefit because aside from a handful of people, I had the whole place to myself. I had a window seat to gaze out of AND a whole middle row of seats to sleep on, which was a nice change from the flight I had arrived on.

Have a great start to your week!

xo
