It’s not very often that I wear head to toe neutrals. In fact, I almost always have some sort of pop of color incorporated into my outfit (usually pink haha!) but I wanted to try something different and I have to say that I kind of love it. Check out the details of my neutral winter outfit below!

A camel coat has always been on my wish list – it’s classic, sophisticated and goes with everything! The funny thing is that I have quite an extensive coat collection but the majority is anything but neutral. My collection boasts all colors of the rainbow and a variety of pastel shades but very, very little neutral colors. It always seems that I’m drawn to prints, colors, and embellishments and that since I have a habit of being quite the opposite of the minimalist, I lack in the neutral department. As I get older, I can see the value in investing in more basics and a more neutral color palette and I’ve vowed to add more of these items into my wardrobe so I can get more wear out of styling everything as a whole.
First on my list was a gorgeous camel coat and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. It’s the perfect shade of honey and very affordable! Plus I love that it has gold metal buttons. I did find a camel coat I loved last year BUT it was way overpriced and the buttons were absolutely horrible. When people say that buttons make a difference, they really do! ***Pro Tip: If you find a cheaper coat that you absolutely love, switch out the buttons for something a little nicer and it will automatically look more expensive!
In my opinion, camel looks best with like colors or other neutrals. Since I didn’t play with too much color, I decided to add different textures to make the outfit more interesting. While my tweed skirt does have flecks of color woven in, it’s not immediately obvious and I feel like the texture meshes well with the smoothness of the coat and boots. Instead of adding a basic white sweater, I styled it with a gorgeous pearl embellished white sweater and I feel like it’s a perfect match! In lieu of jewelry, I added an embellished black hair bow. I finished off my neutral winter outfit with the most perfect quilted handbag (my absolute favorite!) and a dainty ring.
Are you a fan of neutrals? If so, which color(s) do you like wearing the most?
I typically go for lightgrey and cream 😉
