During my recent trip to Nayarit Mexico, I explored four Nayarit magical towns – San Pancho, Sayulita, Compostela and Jala. Previously I had only been to Mexico once to explore the beautiful city of Puerto Vallarta. This trip was full of lots of unique experiences, delicious food and of course, luxurious accommodations. Today I am sharing my picks for the top Nayarit Mexico Resorts and Hotels. Read on for more!

Where to stay at the Nayarit Riviera?
Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta
Is the Vidanta in Nayarit one of the best resorts in Mexico? In my opinion, YES! Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta is luxurious oceanside getaway in Riviera Nayarit. It was named as a top hotel in Mexico and the WORLD by Travel + Leisure. Vidanta offers a variety of high end accommodations, over 40 restaurants and lounges, a shopping plaza and gourmet market, three golf courses, two spas, countless pools, endless entertainment and the all-new Beachland along with many other things. You could easily spend all of your time at the resort but if you want to venture out, I recommend exploring Sayulita and San Pancho in Riviera Nayarit or heading south to the ever gorgeous Puerto Vallarta (see my PV travel guide here).
Hotel Tour: Grand Luxxe at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta
We stayed in the Grande Luxxe Tower 1, a glamorous property with spacious suites, dreamy views, and luxurious amenities. It’s no surprise that this exclusive property boasts a AAA 5 Diamond award! This hotel is next to the Ameca River and is one of six Grand Luxxe properties. The hotel itself is very beautiful and upscale with elegant decor, delicious food options and multiple pools. It’s also fairly close to other attractions like the beach, multiple restaurants, La Plaza and the Beachland area. There are many places to relax on the property or you could venture out and explore more of the Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta (and trust me, there’s a lot to see!).
Vidanta Neuvo Vallarta Grand Luxxe Room Tour
Our room at the Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta Grand Luxe was so spacious and luxurious! It was basically a suite with a living area, spacious bathroom with a shower and tub, and a large bedroom with a vanity and sitting area. It also had two balconies – one with a hammock and another with a set of chairs and a gorgeous sunrise and sunset view!

Beachland
The Beachland area is a beachfront luxury village that includes lots of food, fun, music, entertainment and relaxation. This was one of my favorite areas in the resort. There is so much to do and see! You can easily explore a variety of food options, go for a stroll on the beach, relax in one of the many lounging areas and check out the abundance of unique pool areas.
The Pools
When I tell you there are a lot of pools, I mean it lol! I did not even have time to see them all. What I did see, however, was a variety of unique pools, each different than the other. Some are more lively with pool bars and music while others are more secluded and relaxing. I loved seeing the different designs and atmospheres of each one. Before we left, I made it my mission to find the lazy river at the Vidanta Grand Mayan and let me tell you, it was worth the trek. I had a such a blast!
Grand Luxxe Residence Tower
The top of the Grand Luxxe Residence Tower boasts the most beautiful property views, a rooftop pool, and the beautiful Sky Garden restaurant. The pool area was like something out of a dream! It’s really gorgeous and it definitely took all of my will power to not jump in for a swim haha!
The Estates at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta
We got to tour The Estates at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta and oh my goodness, you would love believe how stunning these are! The Grand Luxxe is gorgeous but these are just breathtaking! They are located across the Ameca River for seclusion and privacy. The first one gave me Bali vibes. There was so much greenery and the property had a very luxurious and spa-like atmosphere. This was my husband’s favorite!
The second property included a ton of suites fit for royalty! The entire suite was as large as a house with multiple bedrooms, a large living area and an even larger balcony with a private pool. I seriously could not believe my eyes! This one had a more upscale vibe and would be perfect for larger parties or families.
See a tour of both properties on my stories!
La Plaza at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta
La Plaza is the central hub for the entire property and is easily accessible from most hotels at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. Here you can find delicious restaurants, lots of shopping and a full Mexican market with groceries, gifts and delectable treats. The interior is super glam and the exterior is very relaxing. We loved going for walks here in the morning to take in the beauty of the outdoors on our way to get snacks and drinks for the day.
Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta Restaurants
Bistro Bleu
Located on the 3rd floor of La Plaza, Vidanta’s central hub, lies the most stunning French Bistro. The decor and overall atmosphere is super high end, elegant and incredibly glamorous. It offers spectacular views of the resort and Ameca River (I highly recommend going at night). This was actually my first time eating French food and I absolutely loved it! The meat dish I had tasted just like Swedish meatballs – so yummy! I also loved the meat appetizer and sorbet for dessert. My husband had the dessert above and thought it was delicious! I can definitely see why this restaurant was voted for a 2021 Traveler’s Choice Award – Best of the Best!
Puerto Manjar
Puerto Manjar is a stunning restaurant located in the Beachland area that overlooks the beautiful coastline just steps away from the Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. The decor has an upscale beach vibe and they offer a wide variety of seafood dishes. Initially, I wasn’t sure what I would be able to eat since I have a few seafood allergies. However, the staff was very kind, considerate and helpful in this regard. I ended up having a delicious chicken and kale salad, a strawberry lemonade and the most delicious sorbet! Yum!
Gong
Gong is an Asian restaurant specializing in one-of-a-kind dishes. The restaurant itself is lively and vibrant with beautiful lanterns, Asian-inspired decor and a water show. You can find this eatery located just behind the Grand Mayan. Previously I had never had Japanese food but I was pleasantly surprised! I had two different meat dishes and both were very unique and tasty. I also lovedddd the sorbet! It was so nice to have a dairy-free dessert with all of my meals 🙂 Gong was also the recipient of the 2021 Traveler’s Choice Award!
Overall Thoughts on Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta
We absolutely loved exploring this massive resort! From relaxing at the array of pools, floating down the lazy river, strolling along the beach and eating to our hearts content, I can truly say that this is a place like no other. It was such a magical experience and I’m already ready to go back!

Nayarit Mexico Hotels
Nukari Quinta Boutique Hotel
While exploring Nayarit Mexico, we stayed at the gorgeous Nukari Quinta Boutique Hotel located in the charming town of Jala. With a colorful exterior, stunning architecture and luxurious rooms, this boutique hotel deserves a spot on everyone’s travel bucket list The rooms are cozy, spacious and stylish with a relaxing atmosphere (plus ours had a hot tub in the room). I honestly didn’t want to leave!
There is abundant outdoor seating for relaxing along with a spa and a rooftop restaurant. I ordered rib eye that was actually grilled on volcanic rock (yes, you read that right – so cool!). This unique hotel is an amazing place to retreat to for peace, tranquility and relaxation but it’s also in a prime location to explore Jala (adventure seekers will love the nearby volcano!).
Nukari Quinta Boutique Hotel
The Nukari Quinta Boutique Hotel in Jala is absolutely magical! Located in one of Nayarit’s Pueblo Magicos, this intimate property looks straight out of an old Hollywood film. In fact, when we arrived, it instantly reminded me of the Casa Kimberly in Puerto Vallarta. During my last trip to Mexico, I fell in love with the property that was once home to Elizabeth Taylor. This definitely gives me the same vibe! Apparently, it used to be someone’s home – can you believe that?
While this hotel is not as grand as the Vidanta (very few are lol), it’s dreamy architecture and quaint size give off a very comforting feeling. And although small by giant resort standards, you will still find luxurious accommodations, delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere. Plus this property sits in the heart of Jala, a very walkable town with a rich history.
Nukari Quinta Boutique Hotel Room Tour
I was pleasantly surprised by our room at the Nukari Quinta Boutique Hotel! They actually gave us a double room suite, which we shared with another couple. They do have single rooms available as well! Our suite included a joint living area full of beautiful decor and cozy furnishings. Each room included a very spacious master suite with a comfortable bed, sitting area, and a massive bathroom with a shower and large jacuzzi tub. The decor was elegant yet vintage inspired, which I loved!

Nukari Quinta Boutique Hotel Restaurant
I was super impressed with the Nukari Quinta Boutique Hotel restaurant! I ordered a steak that was cooked on a volcanic rock. You read that right… a volcanic rock! There is a nearby volcano and I love that the incorporated this touch! The steak was soooooo good and cooked to perfection. That in itself was worth the drive to Jala alone lol!
Overall Thoughts on the Nukari Quinta Boutique Hotel
Overall, I absolutely adored our time at Nukari Quinta Boutique and can’t wait to return! The property itself was charming, luxurious and unique. I love that it was off the beaten path and away from the hustle and bustle of the city and touristy areas. The architecture, food and location can’t be beat!
