The Room

The first thing I noticed about the room was how beautifully decorated it was! It was simple, chic and stunning with a welcoming and private environment. I had the most amazing view of the ocean from my room and it was one of my favorite places to stargaze and watch the sunrise. The bed was super comfortable and I had ample room to move about. The room also included a couch and quaint bistro set. The shower was HUGE and the bathroom was well stocked with towels and other amenities. There was also a closet with plenty of hangers, a safe and a cozy robe and slipper set 🙂

The Lobby & Other Indoor Spaces

Upon walking into the Marriott, you immediately feel like you’re home. With a newly renovated lobby, the environment is comfortable, welcoming and very stylish. The lobby is open concept merging both indoor and outdoor spaces for a unique vibe. There is plenty of comfortable seating to relax and enjoy the atmosphere and of course my personal favorite, a handful of swinging chairs nestled near the entrance of the courtyard area. They also have an adorable hotel cat named Mitzy <3

There is also a spa located down the hall from the lobby in a serene, quiet space. You’re greeted with a beautiful waterfall and the most calming smell of incense as you walk through the door. Here you can get a variety of different types of massages, grab a drink at the juice bar, work out in the fitness center or book a hydrotherapy session. We got to try out the hydrotherapy portion of the spa which included a sauna, steam room, and four incredibly relaxing pools. Not only does the spa incorporate many things for physical healing, but also for spiritual healing as well!

The Property & Outdoor Spaces

The outdoor area boasts lush greenery landscaping, serene water fountains and plenty of room to explore and get “lost.” The indoor spaces are sophisticated and beautifully designed with the most amazing attention to detail and the outdoor spaces are designed much the same. Different types of flora line the walking paths in an explosion of color and texture leading throughout the property and down to the beach. It was a relaxing atmosphere and definitely a feast for the eyes 😉

Food Options

Before I left for Puerto Vallarta, my main worry centered around food and wondering if I would find anything I could eat with my new dietary restrictions and elimination diet. The staff at the Marriott went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and even made special plates just for me. They didn’t make me feel different or make me feel like my dietary restrictions were difficult to accompany. They were happy to do so and let me tell you, the food they prepared for me was incredible!!

We had a ceviche making class and since I couldn’t eat fish, they gave me ingredients for the most incredible vegetarian ceviche. On the last night, their chefs prepared the most amazing seven course meal and they were very diligent in ensuring that not only I could eat what they had prepared for me, but that I still felt like part of the group as well. It amazes me how high of a priority they made my diet but also how they also prioritized every other person as well. You can tell that a lot of time, effort and care went into everything they did. Perhaps one of the sweetest gestures was when they brought out dessert and unveiled that the chef had created each of our blog logos by hand for us out of frosting. It’s the little things like this and the attention to detail they put in everything that makes me want to come back again and again.

Here are a few places available at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta:

Las Casitas

We ate here a couple of times during our trip. Not only was the food amazing but the views of Banderas Bay are to die for! It’s an open air restaurant located right on the beach and near the pool. I highly recommend checking it out for pool service while you’re lounging around the pool or while out to dinner during sunset. There are a lot of seafood options but I was able to easily find something that I could eat that was both within my dietary restrictions and also delicious!

Ceviche & Tequila Bar

This is where we did our Ceviche making class! I loved the unique decor and atmosphere plus the views of the property were breathtaking!

**Other restaurants they have are La Estancia (Mexican), Mikado (Japanese), Champion’s Sports Bar (American), and Deli Los Mangos (Coffee House).**

Breakfast Buffet

This was by far the most amazing buffet I’ve EVER had! They had everything and it was all so delicious! They had plenty of options for everyone (with a Mexican flair!), which I sincerely appreciated with my dietary restrictions.

Coco Station

The cutest little hut to grab coconut filled poolside cocktails!

The Pool

It’s the largest in the area and is nestled close to the beach. It includes a unique design that houses a handful of hammocks for relaxation along with ample seating for enjoying some fun in the sun. You can also rent private cabanas for a bit of privacy (both facing the pool and facing the beach)! The pool is situated close to the Coco Station, which is full of incredible coconut water drinks and Las Casitas, a full service restaurant.

Location

The hotel is right next to the Banderas Bay and close to a lot of nearby attractions! Aside from lounging about at the hotel, you can also explore nearby areas, relax on the beach or go on a paddle boarding or kayaking adventure!

Overall

The hotel itself was beautifully designed and incredibly clean! They have everything you could ever need for an amazing vacation. The staff was super helpful, polite, kind and always went above and beyond to ensure that we were taken care of. They honestly treated us like royalty! There was even a point in our trip when we got out of the van and every single person in their staff clapped for us as we walked into the lobby. Talk about making a girl feel special! You can tell that the staff members were happy to work at the Marriott and that they take pride not only in the hotel but in their culture. They were happy to provide exceptional service not because it’s “their job” but because they genuinely wanted each and every guest to feel special. The hard work they put in definitely doesn’t go unnoticed and this is one of the many reasons that I’ll be returning to the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa in the future.
