 4 Must-Have Silk Clothing Items

White Silk Blouse

A white silk blouse is a must-have for any wardrobe! It’s incredibly versatile and can be paired with any color and item regardless of personal style. I have a white silk blouse from Lilysilk that has a bow at the neck and I just adore the vintage inspired style. My latest find is a gorgeous white Lilysilk shirt with lace detailing at the neck and wrists along with a removable bow. Personally, I love pairing my white blouses with skirts and under my sleeveless dresses.

Colored Silk Blouse

If you’re looking for something with a bit more pep, try a colored silk blouse! If your style leans more classic, add in a neutral like black, brown, blush or tan. Amp it up a bit with a jewel tone like emerald, navy or magenta. If you want to stand out even more, try a brighter shade like cobalt, Kelly green, purple or hot pink. Personally, I have a blush pink Lilysilk blouse that is just GORGEOUS. It has delicate pearl buttons, a removable bow and the prettiest pink shade that pairs well with everything.

Black Silk Blazer

A blazer might not be on your list of silk must-haves but this gorgeous black Lilysilk blazer is what dreams are made of! It looks much more expensive than it is and it includes the most luxurious silk lining. When I saw this blazer, it instantly reminded me of the 1940s New Look from Dior. I recreated a modern version of it by adding a black lace top, cream tulle skirt (handmade by yours truly) and a classic black heel.

Wearing black is actually a recent thing for me. In the past, I’ve always gravitated towards lighter neutrals and pastels since they tend to be more feminine. However, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve truly realized the power of wearing black and how chic, elegant and feminine that it can be.

Classic Silk Scarf

Perhaps, the most classic silk must-have of all is the iconic silk scarf. I personally gravitate toward vintage silk scarves as I love the more feminine prints and colors. And of course, if I can find a designer piece for a steal, that’s a plus! Silk scarves are super easy to wear and can be worn in a variety of ways! They also add a bit of color to an otherwise neutral outfit (and a bit more interest to a colorful look).

Honest Lilysilk Review

Now to answer your most asked questions!

Is Lilysilk legit?

In short, yes it is a legit and trustworthy site! I’ve had no issues.

Is Lilysilk good quality?

Yes! Lilysilk clothing is very good quality! They are actually my favorite brand to shop for silk items. I have Lilysilk pajamas, a Lilysilk trench coat and I even sleep on a pink Lilysilk pillowcase. I’ve even had a few of the pieces for a couple of years and they still look brand new. All of my clothing and other items have held up well so far. I must mention that I do take very good care of the items though! The silk is very smooth and luxurious and I love that they have a variety of items to choose from.

How to care for silk?

While we are on the subject of taking care of silk items, I wanted to share a few tips.

When it comes to washing, I choose to either hand wash or machine wash on the delicates cycle. Using a special detergent for silk will help to keep your silk items looking amazing as ever! If you choose to use a washing machine, put your item(s) in a mesh bag for best results. Always air dry your silk clothing. I tend to drape mine as it dries but I love these mesh drying baskets as well!

To smooth out wrinkles, I’ve found that a hand held steamer is a MUST. In fact, this is something that I feel belongs everyone’s wardrobe. I also love these packs for keeping moths away. Storing your silk items properly will ensure that they last a long time.

How is Lilysilk’s customer service?

In my experience, they’ve been really lovely. Granted, I have not had to return or exchange anything so I don’t have experience with that. But overall, they’ve been very helpful and I am impressed by their customer service!

How true is the Lilysilk size chart?

I would say that Lilysilk runs true to size typically! Sizing wise, I am typically an XS/S (US 2 or 4) and I always get a small for Lilysilk. I have had no sizing issues whatsoever aside from minor gaping at the chest in one of my blouses (easily fixed though) and the pajama that was too small for my hips.

What is Lilysilk’s shipping like?

Shipping for Lilysilk is pretty standard. I would say that it takes 1-2 weeks to receive your items if you are ordering from the US.

Is Lilysilk a good brand?

Overall, I’ve had a very pleasant experience with Lilysilk (both the brand and the products). I have yet to find better quality silk items for the price. Personally, I have a variety of items from them and each of them are just incredible! I feel so confident wearing them and highly recommend checking them out!
