Previously, I talked all about one of my favorite fall fashion trends – Dark Academia fashion. Today, I’m lightening things up with Dark Academia’s pretty pastel counterpart – the Light Academia aesthetic. Read on for details!

Style-wise, the Light Academia aesthetic is definitely up my alley. The color palette and style is very true to my personal style and what I typically gravitate toward. I talked in great detail about the inspiration behind Dark Academia in my last post and honestly, the only difference is that Light Academia is lighter in color, fabric choices and in the overall look and feeling. For the Light Academia Aesthetic, you still have the vintage look and same inspiration but it’s much more romantic. Instead of leaning more towards a masculine fashion style, it comes across as very feminine and polished. The colors are lighter often incorporating cream, beige and light brown. You can also include pinks and pastel shades for a Pastel Academia outfit (another variation of the Academia trend).
Like all trends, I love incorporating them into my own style by taking things that I love from the trend and making it my own. For this outfit, I heavily drew inspiration from the pastel blazer. The colors are so beautiful and fun and the tweed fabric screams Light Academia! Since this is a softer and more feminine trend, I added a lightweight embroidered dress under the jacket. The lilac really stood out to me in the blazer so I amplified it with my lilac Teddy Black Ava handbag and these comfy lilac Vivaia flats. To make it even more feminine and romantic, I added a few pops of blush pink with a bow hair clip, a statement ring and a floral brooch.
