Kai Fragrance Review: Is it worth it?

I’ve been using kai products for many years now (at least 6 or 7) and I can’t believe that I’ve never shared an official review until now! In the past, I’ve shared my love for kai on all platforms and have even run holiday giveaways to spread the kai love to my amazing community. But what if you’ve never tried kai before? What does kai smell like? Is it worth the hype? Which products are the best? I’m sharing all of this and more in my very detailed (and non-sponsored) kai fragrance review.

I’ve actually tried ALL of the products from both the signature kai and kai*rose collections over a series of many years. Below, I’ve included personal and honest reviews for every single product they have. Whether you’re looking for a specific product review or an overall brand review, I’ve got you covered. Kai Fragrance Review: Is it worth it?

Kai Fragrance Review

kai is a favorite of many, many celebrities and Hollywood elites (just look at this incredible list on their website as well as the 70 PAGES of magazine features)! The brand has been around for decades and they’ve expanded the product range so much since their inception. While doing that, they’ve still kept everything simple, natural and of course, luxurious. Not only that but the owner and company as a whole is so kind – I’ve only had positive experiences. You can tell that they truly love their customers and have a passion for their product!

When it comes to signature kai, this is where is all started. It’s a light, fresh and welcoming scent that transports you to the Hawaiian Islands (or at least it does in my mind). It’s beautiful, feminine and perfect for everyday wear. I’m so glad that there are so many product choices available in this scent because truly, theres nothing else like it.

FRAGRANCE

Kai Eau de Parfum

The kai eau de parfum includes the signature kai fragrance oil in the perfect everyday fragrance. It’s light, clean and fresh with a hint of white florals that transports you to exotic faraway places. Talk about eternal summer! The bottle is a decent size and lasts quite a while. I love to layer this with the body lotion or body butter for optimal staying power. My mom especially loves this scent! It’s a treasured part of my fragrance collection.

Kai Perfume Oil

The kai fragrance perfume oil is EVERYTHING!! It smells absolutely delightful… like I’m wrapped in a gardenias. The scent is not overpowering in the slightest but instead is very light, airy and fresh. I always have one of these on me as well, especially when I travel. The petite size makes it ideal for stashing in luggage or handbags. But don’t let the size fool you! This little perfume will have you turning heads each time you wear it. Plus it looks so pretty on a vanity!

BODY

Kai Fragrance Body Butter

The kai fragrance body butter is the absolute BEST body butter I’ve ever tried in my life! I honestly love all of their products but this is my favorite. So much so that I’ve shared it with everyone from my husband and mom to my in-laws and friends! Everyone adores it. My husband especially loves the original scent and is never without it. It smells so fresh and clean and leaves skin feeling silky smooth and hydrated all day long (my skin is even still soft the next day)!

Kai Fragrance Body Glow

The kai fragrance body glow is AMAZING!! You can wear it alone for a subtle glow or you can combine it with the body butter or lotion for ultimate hydration. I usually combine with the lotion for summer and the body butter for fall, winter and spring. It’s lightly fragranced and leaves behind a healthy sheen.

Kai Body Lotion

The kai fragrance body lotion is the perfect alternative to the thicker body butter. This lotion is lightweight yet creamy and moisturizing! It has the same incredible signature kai smell that leaves skin soft and lightly scented. I love using this one in the summertime when the weather is a bit warmer. Sometimes I’ll even combine it with the body glow for extra hydration!

Kai Fragrance Hand Cream

The kai fragrance hand cream is one of my very favorites!! This is another that I have shared with nearly everyone I know (and they all agree that it smells amazing and leaves their hands super soft!). Honestly, I am never without it. I have one in my handbag at all times, in my bedside table drawer, in the living room, in my car, etc. My husband also has one in his car as well and he adores it!!

BATH

Kai Fragrance Body Wash

I am never without my kai fragrance body wash! It’s always in my shower. Not only does it clean everything but it leaves behind a nourishing and hydrating feel. Sometimes body washes can be harsh to the skin but this one is so gentle and luxe. The light scent is inviting and makes me feel like I’m on a tropical vacation! It’s also quite a thick body wash so I have to completely unscrew the cap rather than squeeze it (my only complaint but it’s not a big deal).

Kai Fragrance Shampoo and Conditioner

My hair absolutely loves the kai fragrance shampoo and conditioner duo! Like the body wash, the consistency is a bit thicker on these but it’s not inconvenient. I love the light smell and how it perfumes my hair in such a natural way. I get SO many compliments on how good my hair smells whenever I use it (so expect a lot of compliments)! It also leaves it feeling super soft and easy to style. I would absolutely love it if kai came out with a hair perfume as well!!

Kai Fragrance Bathing Bubbles

After the body butter, the kai fragrance bathing bubbles are my second fave (tied with a few others haha!). A few capfuls provide the perfect amount of bubbles and creates the most luxurious atmosphere. I have a whole ritual for my bubble baths (see my self-care guide for more!) and kai is a big part of that. Not only does it create a calming place to relax but it leaves my skin feeling super soft and lightly fragranced.

Kai Fragrance Deodorant

The kai fragrance deodorant is a wonderful natural deodorant! It smells just like the signature kai with light and dreamy florals. For a natural deodorant, it works fairly well and it’s wonderful for those with sensitive skin. I’m currently making the switch to natural deodorants so I’m excited to see how this does long term!

Kai Fragrance Body Buffer

The kai fragrance body buffer is probably one of their most innovative products! The sponge has the fragrance and soap already infused in it for an easy one-step process to clean, exfoliate and moisturize the skin. It comes with two hypo-allergenic sponges and they honestly last forever. It’s always such a treat to use these body buffers!

HOME

Kai Fragrance Room-Linen Spray

The kai fragrance room-linen spray is another favorite!! It has a light gardenia scent that is perfect for the home (not too over-powering). I love using it on my pillows and sheets mainly but I do use it as a room spray occasionally as well. The bottle is also super pretty! I leave it out on my side table for both beauty and convenience.

Kai Fragrance Reed Diffuser

The kai fragrance reed diffuser is incredible – probably the best reed diffuser I’ve ever used! It has that iconic signature kai smell that embraces the entire home (or it seems like it at least). The container is fairly large and I’ve found it to last a really long time (I’m talking like a year lol!), which is honestly so great for the value. It’s a beautiful piece of art that looks lovely displayed and I always get so many compliments on the scent when I have people over.

Kai Fragrance Skylight and Nightlight Candles

kai fragrance candles are the best! The skylight candle is the larger version with an approximate burn time of 40 hours while the nightlight candle has a burn time of 18 hours. They incorporate a mix of soy, palm and coconut wax and fill the air with the sweet scent of kai! I have these throughout my home as well. I especially love using them in my bedroom, office and living room. For the smaller version, I always use it for my bubble baths! It creates such a beautiful glow and luxurious ambiance!

TRAVEL

Kai Fragrance Travel Set

I never leave home without my kai fragrance travel set! It includes some of my favorite products like the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion and bathing bubbles. There is also a small vial of the signature kai perfume oil! All of this is housed in a lovely travel bag that is perfect for jet-setting. I usually have one of these already packed in my suitcase for last minute trips! This set would also be a great gift, especially if you (or someone else) wants to try a few products before committing.

Kai Rose Fragrance Review 

While I absolutely adore the signature kai scent, my heart belongs to kai*rose. It’s ultra feminine, romantic and alluring yet still wearable for everyday. Everything in the kai*rose collection still has that signature kai scent that we all know and love with the addition of the rose note. Rose is among my favorite scents and my perfume collection boast many, many rose fragrances. I’m happy to say that kai*rose is a part of it!

FRAGRANCE

Kai Rose Eau de Parfum

The kai rose fragrance includes the signature kai perfume oil blended delicately with rose absolute for a dreamy and feminine take on the original kai scent. It smells SO good. I just love it so much!! I have this perfume on both my dresser and on my perfume shelf lol! It’s really that good. Like the original, I love layering this one with the body butter or body lotion. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten stopped to ask “what are you wearing?”

Kai Rose Fragrance Oil

The kai perfume oil rose is the ultimate in rose fragrances! I am obsessed! Whether it’s in my handbag for a day out, my duffle for a weekend away, or my suitcase for longer excursions, I never leave home without it. Just like the original scent, this petite beauty is light and airy (with the exception of the lovely rose note).

Kai Rose Body Butter

When I say that I’ve got a stash of kai rose body butter, I’m not even exaggerating. I never want to run out! This has the same formula as the original but it includes the ever-so-lovely rose. The texture is light and creamy and it leaves behind a healthy sheen and incredible hydration that lasts. The scent is magical! My husband absolutely loves it on me (and I love the signature kai on him!).

Kai Rose Body Glow

Like the signature kai body glow, the kai rose body glow is perfect for achieving a radiant glow (it’s all in the name!). If my skin is ever dry, this spruces it up real quick! I love wearing it alone for lightweight hydration and a soft rose scent during the warmer months. When I need some extra nourishment, I combine with the kai*rose body butter!

Kai Rose Body Lotion

The kai rose body lotion is lightweight and hydrating like it’s gardenia scented sister! It’s the perfect supplement for an everyday skincare routine (plus the smell is off the charts amazing). I love using this or the body butter directly after my shower and I swear I smell incredible for the next 24 hours lol!

Kai Rose Hand Cream

I do love my hand creams and the kai rose hand cream is no exception. It leaves hands so soft and supple with a light rose scent and a radiant glow. Like the signature kai, I have this stashed literally everywhere you can imagine. In fact, I’ve got one on my desk as I type this haha! I never want to be without it. It makes such a difference with my hands (and feet!).

BATH

Kai Rose Body Wash

The kai rose body wash is everything I could ever dream of and more! Of course, it leaves my skin feeling clean and hydrated but the light scent it leaves behind is just like heaven. This might be a little TMI but I’ve had body acne since I could remember and I did not want to switch solely to an acne body wash and give up my kai. Instead, I decided to combine the two so I get the best of both worlds! This has been my regimen for years now and I couldn’t be happier!

Kai Rose Body Buffer

The kai rose body buffer is the same as the signature one with the added rose scent. I love that it’s a multi-tasking product that cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin. I especially love using the body buffers when I take my bubble baths! It feels so luxurious and really helps in the self-care department.

Kai Rose Deodorant

The kai rose deodorant is another great alternative if you are looking for a natural deodorant.! The rose scent is SO good and while I love both, the rose is my preference (what can I say, I’m a rose girl through and through!). I also love that the stick is clear because it doesn’t leave behind any residue. For me personally, I do have to reapply throughout the day but I think this might be because my body is still not used to a natural deodorant.

Kai Rose Skylight Candle

The kai rose skylight candle is my fave!! It smells incredible. I like to alternate between this one and the signature scent. The candles honestly last forever and they create the most beautiful and fragrant environment and ambiance! I just feel so at home with my kai candles. I only wish that the rose scent was also released in the nightlight version and room spray because I would be all over that in a heartbeat!! kai*rose forever!

Is Kai Perfume Non-Toxic?

Kai products are free of parabens, sulfate, phthalate, phosphate, and gluten. They are also vegan and cruelty free! Products are made in the USA and use recyclable packaging.

What does Kai perfume smell like?

You might be wondering “What does Kai Fragrance smell like?” Signature kai is described as “a light and intoxicating scent of gardenia wrapped in white exotics” while kai*rose is described as exactly the same with the addition of “rose absolute.” In short, they are both light and airy scents. I would consider signature kai to be more clean with white musky florals while kai*rose is more floral heavy with both white florals and rose.
