I apologize for the late post! My laptop stopped working mid-post last night and I have been attempting to figure out how to work our new Mac. Needless to say, it is very frustrating and difficult to go from a Windows to a Mac lol! Anyway, I’m talking about my least favorite clothing article today…jeans! Haha! Read on for my Honest Mott and Bow Jeans Review!

I know that I’m in the minority here but I have always had an issue with jeans. They are constricting and I can never find any that fit my 4’11” pear shaped body. You will rarely see me in jeans because I feel much more comfortable in dresses and skirts. They are fun, feminine and flattering…plus you can twirl! 😉 You can’t exactly twirl in jeans, but my main issue is the fit. I have always had a gap in the waist and could never find any jeans that fit right. I haven’t shared this on the blog, but I used to play soccer and cheer in high school so my legs are pretty athletic. When you mix that with a waist that is two times smaller than your hips and having a petite frame, it makes searching for jeans a difficult and frustrating process. After many years of searching, I found the Levi’s Curve ID and bought as many pairs as I could! They have lasted forever, but they sadly don’t make my fit anymore. I was very hesitant about trying Mott & Bow because of previous fit issues…plus jeans are really something I need to try on. I ordered the high-waisted fit and the initial pair was way too big in the waist. I reordered a smaller size and while they are still a bit big, they fit much better than any other jeans I’ve ever had. They are very comfortable and I love the way they look. I’ll definitely be giving them another try!;-)
I decided to pair my Mott and Bow jeans with this fun, feminine top. Ruffles are the biggest trend right now (which I LOVE!) so of course, I had to incorporate that into my outfit. I love that the ruffle runs across each sleeve and the chest to make for a fun statement piece! I dressed it up with a pair of blush heels and my favorite blush colored bag. Since the ruffles are so excessive, I kept my jewelry to a minimum of two dainty pieces. My husband isn’t a fan of this top…but I am! And sometimes husband just don’t know fashion lol!
Anyway, I cropped my photos a bit differently today. What do you guys think? Is it easier to see my outfit? Does it look too crazy? Definitely give me your input 🙂

Totally feel you! I’m thin and straight, so even when I get jeans that should fit my hips and waist there is always a side bump where your natural curves are supposed to fit but I don’t have them! I also have athletic legs and have given up on skinnies, they are always too narrow. (Super thankful that wide legs and kick-crops are in style!)
As for the photos, I think I enjoy the original more. This could be because I’ve seen it so much the other way, but I enjoy the backgrounds you have in your photos as they really compliment your outfits. I also think that usually, just for aesthetic purposes, that 4x6ish and 1×1 ratios are the best crops (and you already have a strong Instagram feed that already utilizes the 1×1 ratio.) I love your Instagram, but I’ve always enjoyed coming to the blog and “seeing the full picture,” so to speak. I think the original crop helps to distinguish it enough from your Instagram account and can help draw readers to the blog to “get the full story.” Not that these crops are terrible, they still work really well, but I think that the regular crop gives you a better deal. 🙂

I totally get this Liz! Since my mom is a seamstress, she describes it as pants having way more fit points than skirts!! Yet it’s funny how so many women rather wear pants now!!
I used to be a gymnast, so I know the feeling of having muscular legs! It really is a chore to find good fitting jeans, but I do think that the spandex in them now is so helpful! That and I’ve learned to take in the waistband!!

I have never owned a pair of jeans – I know that sounds strange but I just don’t like the image somehow. I was a dresses/skirts only person until about 4 years ago but although I now wear trousers quite often I have resisted jeans. I did reconsider a few weeks ago for a charity dress down day at work and tried some on in a shop but I didn’t like how tight and restrictive they were around my thighs and bottom and I just didn’t feel comfortable.
I completely understand, I’m not a fan either 🙂
I can definitely relate, out of the 20 pairs of jeans i own maybe around 2 fit me perfect!

Jeans can be a hard one to find, I used to work in GAP and the jeans wall was my life! I used to help Women with fit and finding the perfect jeans every day! You look so cute in these jeans!

I have the same struggle. I hate hate hate jeans. I have a few pair I wear if I absolutely have to but I avoid them at all costs. I get so jealous when I see girls wearing jeans and they actually look comfortable in them! I have really large hips so my jeans usually have this big gap at the back that isn’t sexy lol. I also have a really short torso, so my jeans either come up wayyyy too high or they’re too low – I just can’t win 🙁

Finally someone that understands my pain! I was a sprinter in track throughout high school and college and have athletic legs too! My thighs and calves are always bulging out of my jeans while I keep having to pull them up because they’re too big on my waist. I’ll have to check out Mott and Bow!
