Today is the day…. my YouTube channel is finally LIVE!
This has been a work in progress for over three years so it’s unreal to see it all come together. Pushing the publish button brought back a lot of memories from when I first started this blog. I felt nervous and scared yet excited and hopeful. This is such a huge deal for me because it’s completely outside my comfort zone and I had to do a lot of growing personally to get to this place.
People have asked why I didn’t start sooner and simply put… I just wasn’t ready. As someone who is considered “shy,” typing away on a computer is much easier than getting in front of a camera. But it goes deeper than that and if you’ve been a longtime reader than you’ve been a witness to this. My fear of not feeling like I was good enough along with my perfectionist tendencies held me back for so long. And sadly, I think this is something a lot of us face. The funny thing is that my blog actually brought me out of my shell and forced me to learn new skills. That coupled with my own personal development (and lots of Instagram story practice) has brought me here – the realization that I am good enough and valuable. Because if I’m being honest, that’s why I started in the first place. I wanted to share my deepest passions to help others feel beautiful, confident and worthy. Although I didn’t realize it, I wanted to help others that felt like me… and it changed me in the best ways because when you think about it, we all want the same things.
With me, there is always a deeper meaning, some sort of symbolism, purpose behind everything I do and every decision I make. I truly want to make the world a happier (and prettier) place 🙂 Yes, YouTube is another vertical that I’m only just beginning to explore but it’s also another way for us to connect on a more intimate level because photos can only show so much. I’m excited to invite you into that part of my life because I do consider all of you my friends. But most of all, I’m excited for how this is going to challenge me personally and force me to grow in the most unexpected ways – in my confidence, my creativity, and the belief in myself.
