Happy Monday, lovelies!
It feels like forever since I’ve posted lol! It was so nice to take a much needed break and go on an actual vacation, but I’m glad to be back and ready to get back into the swing of things 🙂 I hope you all enjoyed last week’s guest posts! Today, I’m talking all about how to wear pastels and sharing some random life updates!
How to Wear Pastels Outfit Details
Chicwish Dress c/o | Charlotte London Blazer c/o (see how I styled another blazer in this post!) | Boden Heels c/o (available in 7 different colors!) | Kate Spade Handbag (sold out – obsessed with this, similar here) |French Kande Necklace
Pastel Queen right here 😉 It’s no secret that I have a fondness for soft color palettes… take just one peek at my Instagram and you’ll see a colorfully curated pastel pink world. My life through rose colored glasses, you might say. My closet is an explosion of color, but I always gravitate toward softer hues. A lot of times, when styling an outfit, one pastel piece is just right. However, sometimes you just have to live a little and layer all the pastels together haha! Instead of just throwing together every pastel item you own, I think it’s important to ground your outfit by starting with a neutral of some sort. In this case, I started with a white lace dress. From there I added the light blue blazer and blush handbag. My husband actually picked out my shoes and I love the way they compliment the outfit! It’s a statement without being in your face. When adding together different colors, just start slow and work your way up by adding in small pops of color with accessories. If you’re feeling more bold, add a layering piece such as a jacket or add in color with a key piece such as a top or skirt. In the beginning, the key is to keep at least one item in your outfit neutral so it flows.
So I never share life updates or anything, but it’s 2am and I’m in a chatty mood haha! I had a crazy busy day of shooting and writing. I’m not a fan of coffee, unfortunately, so my husband gave me a bit of his pre-workout to give me a boost of energy. I’d say it worked haha. You’re all probably wondering about my vacation…and if you watched Instagram stories, then you saw first hand exactly where we stayed, what we did and where we went. If you missed out, no worries! I will have a post up soon (hopefully by the end of next week). Also, you might remember reading about my stomach issues a while back. I tried a few different things and nothing has worked so far. Right now, I am in the process of eliminating certain foods that could be partially responsible for the issues. The first off my list was bread (and this might sound crazy, but I was never a big bread eater in the first place lol). It’s been a few months and I’m happy to report that I’m starting to feel like myself again! My digestion issues haven’t completely subsided, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. It’s crazy what a difference diet can make! Also, we just finished The Office today! I feel like I always watch everything wayyyy after it comes out…like years after lol. Anyway, my husband and I like to binge watch Netflix shows and I had never seen The Office previously. I’m a huge Parks & Rec fan so I knew it would be a good choice 😉 Loved it and now I’m sad because it’s over and we have nothing else to watch haha! If you have any good Netflix recommendations, let me know!
