Hello, lovelies!
You all know how much I love to wear color. In fact, I think color looks amazing on everyone! Of course, neutrals (which I also love) often look chic and understated, but wearing color can really bring out eye colors, compliment hair colors, and flatter varying skin tones – plus it’s just so much fun! With that being said, there is usually one color people shy away from…orange. Read on to see how to wear orange the right way!

I’m going to let you in on a little secret and you’re probably going to think it’s so silly but…..I am not a fan of orange. AT ALL. In fact, it’s my least favorite color! I really don’t have any reason as to why I feel this way, but it’s definitely something I feel very strongly about haha! And when I say orange, I’m talking about the overly obnoxious, bright, in-your-face, halloween pumpkin, highlighter kind of orange. I’ve tried to like it and I just can’t. My husband thinks it the funniest thing ever and he certainly makes fun of me for my distaste because I literally shudder at the thought of it. But you know what? We all have colors that we don’t love. Sometimes it’s green, sometimes it’s red and sometimes it’s yellow, but I’ve found that there are actually a lot of ladies out there that share my opinion about orange, especially when concerning clothing. There are people out there that can pull it off flawlessly but most of us, it’s definitely a difficult color to wear. If this is the case, why not consider a different hue?
When I saw this dress, I fell in love with the flattering cut and dreamy way it seemed to flow. The color was another story, but I gave it a chance and I’m happy to say that it is absolutely beautiful in person. It’s a lighter pastel shade that reminds me of the sweetest sorbet. I thought I would look like a crazy person, but I actually really loved the way the color looked on me, which is something I totally didn’t expect. And this got me thinking… that maybe orange isn’t so bad in a different intensity.
Maybe we just need the right hue that flatters our complexion or something that doesn’t stand out too much. I definitely think that the pastel orange is a great alternative, along with burnt orange (which I actually love, by the way). They are both lighter and darker variations of the hue that tend to be much more flattering and much less attention grabbing plus they are overall much easier to wear and more pleasing to the eye. Of course, there is no right or wrong way to wear it and fashion rules can be broken because at the end of the day, it’s all about how it makes you feel! What are your thoughts on orange? 😉
And I’d love to know…
what is your least favorite color?
