Hi lovelies!

I hope your week is going well! I’m so happy to be back from vacation and get back in the swing of things. Today, I’m sharing a bit of my trip with you all and showing you how to wear navy and blush for fall 😉

Even though, I typically go for more colorful clothing, I thought it would be fun to dress up a more neutral outfit with colorful accessories. I love a good white top… in fact, I probably have way more than I should haha! I feel like it’s the perfect basic to build any outfit on and I especially love it with this chic navy skirt. The pop of color with the blush adds an element of interest and makes the outfit a bit more playful. I kept my jewelry fairly simple and added some additional sparkle with my headband. As for the flower wall…we actually stumbled upon this completely by accident! We found a large group of photographers shooting in our planned location so we drove around a bit until we saw these gorgeous blooms peeking out (20 minutes before sunset haha!).

Now for my trip….

So last week around this time, we left for our annual Yosemite trip and to be honest, it didn’t start off on the best foot. As we started packing up the car, we noticed that almost all of our camping equipment had been stolen. We were left with our sleeping bags, air mattress (no pump) and our new tent (that just happened to be in our apartment). The last thing I had stolen from me was my camcorder from my high school graduation. I had gone to Europe for the first time and recorded video of the entire trip…and then just like that, it was taken from my bedroom along with all the memories from that first trip. I will admit that I was pretty upset when I first realized what had happened. We had been building up our camping collection over a span of about nine years and had just added a few key pieces. It made me sick to my stomach thinking about someone breaking into our garage and rummaging through our things. I felt violated and terrified.

But then I realized something. We are in charge of our own actions and the way we feel. We cannot control what others have done. Yes, it sucks and this could have very easily ruined our trip but luckily, we were at least left with the essentials. We packed up our car and headed to REI and Target to pick up a handful of necessary things and went on our way. We didn’t think about what had just happened but instead enjoyed our trip and enjoyed the company of one another.

We ended up having a great time despite the initial setback. We walked through giant Sequoia groves, witnessing the beauty of some of the world’s oldest trees. We hiked up rock stairs to the top of Vernal Fall and came back down the John Muir trail, meandering through miles of fall foliage. We went on a night hike and saw an abundance of shooting stars while stargazing in the meadow. We started each morning with hot chocolate and a trip to the beautiful Majestic Yosemite Hotel. We even traveled to Tuolumne Meadows for the first time (something I’ve been wanting to do for nine years!) and did some impromptu rock climbing before relaxing on the beach of the beautiful Tenaya Lake. It really was a wonderful trip and in those moments, it didn’t matter that we arrived with less material items than years past but that we left with incredible memories that we’ll remember forever 🙂

Would you wear navy and blush for fall?
