I always love a good statement piece, especially when it comes to accessories. Although they are super chic and unique, they aren’t always the easiest thing to wear which is why I’m sharing how to easily style a statement bag for everyday.

How to Style a Statement Handbag for Everyday
When it comes to handbags, I tend to either go for a simple neutral structured handbag or a unique embellished one. I usually reserve the simple ones for everyday and the statement bags for special occasions. However, I truly believe in the magic of elevating everyday looks with something special and the easiest way to do that is with an accessory. While some may follow fashion rules, I say…why not break them and wear what makes you happy? While it may be overwhelming and seemingly unpractical to try to incorporate a statement bag into a daytime look, it’s certainly possible and a lot easier than you think. My number one tip…go simple.
An embellished handbag is a statement on it’s own so you really don’t have to go all out with your outfit. Let the bag steal the spotlight and go simple with everything else. For this outfit, I started with a completely blank slate. Since my handbag has a lot of color, I decided to pair two neutrals together: a cream ruffled sweater and grey faux leather skirt. I also added a pair of mauve heels since I usually like to incorporate some type of color into my outfits. The outfit totally would have been fine had I stopped there, but I decided to layer on a blush coat to add a bit more depth and to pull out the pink tones from the handbag. I’m loving the results! What do you think?
Tips to Keep in Mind
- Stick to solid colors for your outfit
- If your handbag has a lot of color, try styling it with neutral tones
- Stay away from busy prints and patterns (unless that’s your style, of course!)
- If your handbag is completely embellished, pair it with dainty jewelry (or none at all)
- Although, you may be working with solid or neutral colors, you can still have fun with details and textures (my ruffled sweater, for example)
