When I think of how to style a rancher hat in a feminine way, a few things come to mind. There are a handful of ways to create a feminine look that I’ve listed below (and you don’t even have to be as girly as I am). Look for one or more of these elements when putting together your outfit!

Wear Light Colors

First things first, choose light colors. This is best for spring and summer but can work for other seasons as well. Also, you don’t have to only wear light colors but I think it looks best when trying to create a feminine look 🙂

For neutrals, look for:

  • Cream
  • White
  • Light Grey

For colors, look for:

  • Light blue
  • Mint Green
  • Blush Pink
  • Light Yellow
  • Light Tangerine
  • Lilac
  • Pretty much any light pastel!

Choose Light Fabrics

When it comes to fabrics, lighter is always better! Think – breezy, airy, twirly, etc. Personally, I think that classically feminine fabrics look best when paired with a masculine element such as a rancher hat. And the fabric does not have to be just one color, prints work well too (especially florals).

Look for fabrics like:

  • Tulle
  • Lace
  • Chiffon
  • Linen
  • Cotton
  • Silk
  • Knits
  • Swiss Dot
  • Organza

Look for Romantic Details

Romantic details definitely scream feminine! And they might be my favorite element to look for in clothing. Although you could absolutely wear a simple cream tulle skirt or blush pink lace dress, the addition of the romantic details un-mistakenly creates an unapologetically feminine look.

Look for details like:

  • Ruffles
  • Embroidery
  • Bows
  • Pearls
  • Lace Trim
  • Embellishments
  • Buttons
  • Puff Sleeves

Create a Feminine Silhouette

You all know I’m a dress girl so I LOVE creating a feminine silhouette! I tend to wear dresses or skirt and top combos that come in at the waist to create a flattering, feminine look. You can also opt for a looser fit house dress for a more relaxed look and if you’re just not a dress kind of girl, try jeans with a feminine top (peplum or peasant tops are perfect for this!).
