When it comes to neutrals, I tend to gravitate toward the lighter variations – white, cream, camel and even blush are my faves! And while, I love a good colorful floral print and fun pattern, I also love the simplicity and classic styling of neutrals. They look chic, effortless, understated and sophisticated and can sometimes even verge on “basic” but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring. I love a good clean neutral outfit but I also love to have fun with my styling!

I was inspired by the nude tones of this skirt and top set to create this neutral feminine winter outfit. The fabric is lighter weight and the design is a bit utilitarian in a way but I adore the ruffle details and love how the neutral floral print makes it work for a variety of seasons. To dress is up for winter and add some extra warmth, I added this glamorous nude coat with faux fur collar. I has the vintage glamour I love and has a slight pink hue to it! Instead of jewelry, I opted for a pearl brooch, nude rhinestone embellished shoes and cream pearl embellished beret (how cute is the bow?). While embellishments can be a bit much sometimes, this works because the embellishment is just a small part of the outfit – the accessories! To finish off the look, I added a darker nude handbag with bow detail.

When styling neutrals, think of it as styling a monochrome look. You’ll want to have a good use of texture, prints and/or varying tones of the same color. In my case, I’m using all of these but you can certainly choose scale back a bit 😉

Are you a fan of wearing neutrals? If so, which color is your favorite to wear?
