Happy Friday, beauties!
Let me tell you, this has been the craziest week (more on that below). I brought this romper back from Hawaii and while I have loved wearing it as is for a cute and comfy summer outfit, I also wanted to find a way to make it a little less casual. Read on to see how to dress up a romper!
Charlotte London Blazer c/o | American Eagle Romper (also love this and this!) | Tory Burch Handbag (old – updated version here) | Lc Lauren Conrad Heels (old – obsessed with these) | Twig & Thorn Necklace c/o | Kate Spade Cuff (old – love this) | Rocksbox Ring
So I went to the doctor earlier in the week for a procedure and ended up being in bed for a full day (hence why I was MIA on here – totally wasn’t expecting to not be able to work). I was super nervous before going in and it was definitely pretty painful. Luckily, my husband was there to take care of me and we ended up Netflix binging all day. Within 24 hours, I felt so much better! I ended up making the drive down to LA on Wednesday for the most amazing event. I’m pretty picky when it comes to these things, but this one was definitely worth the drive. Buxom cosmetics went all out! They had a really cool video booth, flatlay station, pillow embroidery and yummy drinks and appetizers. Plus the view of Hollywood was to die for! We did a make up tutorial with Shay Mitchell and took home a ton of beauty goodies (I’m wearing one of the lip colors in these photos!). I always get so nervous before events. Since I don’t live in the area, I don’t really know too many other bloggers so each time I go, it’s a struggle to break out of my shell. But I met some really great girls and we ended up having a dance party with Shay (see my IG story) – so much fun! Also, my podcast interview with Monica Woodhams of the Influencer Girl Lifestyle Podcast just came out! You can list on iTunes, Spotify or Google Play.
On to my outfit: I usually reserve rompers for my “off duty days.” I mean, it basically feels like you’re wearing pajamas! And it’s so easy to dress down since it’s such a casual item, but I thought it would be a fun challenge to dress it up! I knew this blazer from Charlotte London would be the perfect layering piece. It’s classy, chic and uber stylish! I love how you can wear it casual with jeans and a tank or in a more elegant way with a structured dress. It’s lined with the most gorgeous mix of gemstones and the pink perfectly matches that of the romper. Since it’s such a statement piece, I went for a more neutral hue with my handbag and shoes. To top it off, I added the most gorgeous diamond necklace from Twig & Thorn for an understated dash of sparkle.
