How to Cut Your Own Bangs at Home
If there’s one question I get a lot… it’s usually involving my hair – more specifically, my bangs! I had them when I was younger, grew them out, and then went back to them a few years ago. Now I can’t imagine my life without them! They’ve come to be my most recognizable feature and I love how they showcase my personality. I guess you could say they’ve become somewhat of my signature style 😉
Bangs are incredibly versatile and I love that you can style them so many ways! Plus they just make ponytails and high buns look adorable! There is, however, a downside as they do require a ton of maintenance to keep them looking fresh. Since my hair stylist lives an hour away, heading to the salon each week for a trim isn’t feasible so through trial and error (and lots of practice!), I learned how to trim my bangs myself from the comfort of my own home. I do this once a week if I’m on top of things or once every other week when life’s a bit crazy 😉 But now that I’ve got it down to a science, trimming my bangs is a breeze and I’m super excited to share my secret to the perfect face-framing fringe! Check out the short video below for a full tutorial on how to cut your own bangs at home. You’ll be bangin’ in no time ha!
Also, while we’re talking about hair, I thought I’d share my most used hair products!
Shampoos
When it comes to shampoos, I prefer a more hydrating feel to squeaky clean. Absolutely love all of these! You can’t go wrong!
Conditioners
Love these too! The Moroccanoil rose scent is my favorite! I get SO many compliments when I use it!
Hair Masks
I’m big on hair masks, especially with the damage done from when I tried permanent extensions 🙁 I use a mask probably three times a week and I just love how bouncy these make my hair look and feel!
Sprays
I’ve been using the Garnier hairspray since high school! It has the perfect amount of hold, especially when it comes to my bangs – it’s enough to keep them in place but still offers flexibility and movement. I even got my husband on board with it too (he’s obsessed!). I love the Morrocanoil sprays for when I blow dry or use hot tools!
Oil
This is the only oil I use! I’ve gone through a million bottles… I just love it so much! I use it as a de-tangler after showering, to add a hint of shine after blow-drying and on my ends to keep them healthy and hydrated. My hairstylist always compliments my hair and this is the product I have to thank for it. If I could only choose one hair product, this would be it!
What do you think of the tutorial? Would you ever consider getting bangs?
Let me know! <3
