When I saw Rear Window for the first time in my college art history class years ago, I fell in love with classic movies… especially the fashion. I’ve always been drawn to vintage styles and love to take inspiration from glamorous Old Hollywood starlets on the regular. Grace Kelly’s iconic black and white dress from the film might be one of my favorites of all time! See how I recreated the famous Grace Kelly dress below!

First things first, my Grace Kelly dress isn’t a dress at all! When I saw this skirt, I knew that I needed it in my wardrobe. It’s so elegant, classy and ladylike and the very thing that inspired this whole outfit. If you know me, then you know that I LOVE a good twirly skirt! This skirt is probably one of the most twirl-worthy skirts that I own – it’s honestly a dream. See it in action in this haul!
To create a similar look in a modern way, I opted for a fitted black puff sleeve top. Any fitted black top would look gorgeous in my opinion but if you want a more classic look, go for an off-the-shoulder top. To finish off this elegant look, I added a pair of black bow heels, a small black vintage inspired handbag, my favorite pearl bracelet and a Cinderella-esque black velvet choker.
Overall, I think this is a really beautiful look! It’s not often that I wear black but now I’m considering wearing it more hehe! This Grace Kelly inspired outfit would be a perfect for a date night or any dressy event.
