A Flattering Maxi Dress for Every Body Type

Maxi dresses are my best kept secret, especially as a petite gal 😉 I used to shy away with them thinking that they were too overwhelming for my height but over the years, I’ve come to embrace them. And if I’m being honest, they’ve actually become quite a staple in my wardrobe as I now wear them on the regular! I’m so happy to share that I’ve found “the” maxi – a flattering maxi dress that looks amazing on every body type.

This floral maxi dress is a DREAM! I shared it in my last Chicwish haul and many of you said that it was your favorite item! The color and print and super feminine and romantic but the fit is amazing and oh so flattering. The secret is in the top half. This is actually a wrap dress (like the iconic silhouette from DVF) and that alone creates quite a magical fit.

This dress can be easily fitted to many body types due to the adjustable waist, therefore creating a flattering shape. And because it’s a maxi, it gracefully skims down the rest of the body creating a statuesque look (perfect for my fellow petite ladies). This also perfect for pear shapes like myself as it minimizes the hips while still keeping that womanly shape. The v-neck top also elongates the neckline to lengthen even more. I also adore the slight balloon sleeves on this particular dress! It’s a very feminine detail and in my opinion, also adds to this flattering design.

I finished this look off with a pair of purple heels, a structured pearl handbag and a pearl headband. The only think that I will say about this dress is that it’s a bit long off the rack for petites. I’m 4’11” and I typically go for 52 inches at the most when it comes to maxi dresses. That said, I’m no stranger to hem alternations and I don’t feel that the length is too long to where I’m tripping over the fabric 😉 I should also note that it photos exceptionally well and would be a good choices for any type of photos!
