The Most Feminine Spring Outfit & Link Up

Happy Friday, darlings!

As I’m typing this, it’s just past midnight (sorry that the link up is late lol!). I’ve been up since 6am this morning…and honestly, I have no idea how my eyes are still open, especially since I don’t drink coffee lol. From blog work and subbing to guitar and tutoring, you can say that it’s been quite a longgg day. I don’t know why I do this to myself, but I told my husband that he has to keep me accountable from now on and force me to say NO. I did take an hour to relax with him (and watch Ink Master haha!) before I started editing a million photos though 😉 I’m definitely looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow haha! I have to say that this is my favorite feminine spring outfit so far and these have to be my favorite group of photos of ALL TIME (top three, at least! The rooftop ones from this post are still my fave!) <3

Doesn’t this location look like something out of a fairytale?! It’s just as dreamy in real life as it is in photos and it’s literally just down the street! The areas surrounding my city are covered in almond orchards making it particularly beautiful in early March. They only bloom for a couple of weeks and draw a ton of people from all over just to see them in person. To me, it is literally the most beautiful thing ever and I always make it a point to drive by them as much as I can before the blossoms disappear. This is actually only the second time I’ve shot in the orchards (the first was in these posts from three years ago) since it’s hard to find them at their prime and rain is usually a factor around this time. A lot of them were already turning when we took these photos, but there were still a ton of blossoms left 🙂

Anyway, you might think that since I’m a blogger that I’m comfortable in front of the camera – NOT. I am totally camera shy and become super awkward because I never know what to do. I always joke that I need to take modeling lessons because I tend to do the same poses over and over (except I’m not really joking…ha!). I feel like it’s always awkward with other photographers because I kind of freeze up and feel uncomfortable but luckily with my husband shooting, it takes some of the pressure off. He is always very patient with me, even when I freak out about my crazy facial expressions or when I’m having a bad hair day. For this shoot, I did my usual “I have no idea what to do! What should I do with my hands? Should I smile? Are my bangs crazy? Do I look okay?” verbiage. He saw that I was in distress and took control by telling me what to do – “Look up. Don’t smile. Gaze off into the distance. Do that hair thing. Get behind that tree branch.” Do you guys know how hard it is for me to NOT smile? I was laughing in between my “serious” shots because I felt so silly…but I actually love how they came out! Maybe I should listen to my hubby more 😉 We also took a million headshots because I told him I needed a new profile picture haha!

So this spring outfit…..is probably one of my all-time faves. I’ve never worn this dress on the blog, but you might remember it from NYFW. I was lusting after it for the longest time but it was way out of my price range so you can imagine my excitement when it went on major sale and I saw that there was only one more left…in my size! Talk about fate. I brought this Spring outfit with me to NYFW as a “just in case my planned outfit didn’t work out” outfit and it ended up being photographed like crazy and published! You can’t tell in the photos but it’s actually completely backless, which is such a interesting and unique touch. I also just got this bag from the last Kate sale and love how perfectly it goes with the dress (and you guys obviously love it too because you went crazy for it on my stories!). These boots are HANDS DOWN my favorite spring shoe! I have been wearing them off the blog with everything from jeans to dresses to skirts. The color is the perfect shade of blush and I just adore the unique ruffle detailing (you guys also LOVED this one on stories too!). I’m seriously thinking about getting them the white version too just because I love them that much!

What are your plans for the weekend?

xo
