Feminine Romantic Style in 6 Easy Ways
Choose Light Neutrals
When creating a feminine romantic style, light neutrals are key! They pair well with everything, can be dressed up or down and can be styled in a plethora of different ways. Lighter neutrals tend to be softer and look more feminine. They look amazing with prints, pastels, dark neutrals and even bright colors depending on your personal style. They also look amazing when styled in a monochrome look!
Tip: For a chic light neutral look from head to toe, mix different textures together for an interesting and stylish look! For this outfit, I paired a floral lace top with a ruffled tulle skirt.
Opt for Pastels
Pastels are a girly girls dream! Like many others, pink is my absolute favorite color and I wear it every possible chance I get. Other pastel hues that I adore are lilac, light blue, peach, mint and light yellow. Style your favorite shade with the same color in a darker hue, opt for the same pastel tone to create a stunning monochrome look or pair pastels together for a sweet style reminiscent of sorbet on a summer day! These pink espadrilles are definitely a recent fave!
Wear Florals
Florals are undoubtably the heart of feminine romantic style! I adore smaller florals that are soft and delicate in color and nature but I also do enjoy a big, vibrant floral prints as well! Pair florals with solids for a chic, put together look or pair two florals together to create a fun, bold ensemble. If florals aren’t your thing for clothing, opt for an accessory with the print. Additionally if prints aren’t your thing, try floral lace, jewelry, or hair barrettes.
Look for Delicate Fabrics
You can’t have feminine romantic style without delicate fabrics! My favorites are tulle, chiffon, lace, organza, crochet, eyelet and silk but there are so many more to choose from! For spring and summer, opt for lighter, flowy fabrics like lace, eyelet or chiffon and for fall and winter, look for tweed, faux fur, and soft knits.
Consider Feminine Frills
Some people love frills and some prefer a more simple look. Personally, I am always drawn to frills and many of my favorite garments incorporate them in some way! Look for ruffles, bows, ribbons, smocking, pin tucking, lace, etc. Some clothing options showcase these on a larger scale while others include a “barely there” element.
Add Some Sparkle
Lastly, add some sparkle to finish off your look! Some garments include sparkly elements such as buttons, jeweled embellishments, adorned necklines or even shimmery fabric. You can also add sparkle through accessories like shoes, handbags and of course, jewelry! Some prefer statement pieces while others prefer delicate jewels. Personally, I also love a good pearl necklace, tennis bracelet, princess ring or vintage clip on earrings. This outfit specifically was styled around this vintage beaded floral collar!
