If you’ve been perusing Netflix lately then you’ve likely seen a series called Emily in Paris pop up. While the series itself is very light and easy to watch, the main character’s colorful and eclectic fashion sense has taken over. With fun colors, quirky patterns and bold combinations, it seems as though for some, her style can be inspiring and a breath of fresh air while others see it as a little too over the top.
Personally, I saw this as opportunity to play “dress up” in my own wardrobe and to challenge myself by thinking outside the box. After watching the series, I chose 9 of the outfits that stood out to me the most (8 from Emily and 1 from Camille) to recreate using only items from my closet that I already owned. When recreating these Emily in Paris outfits, I wanted to get as close to the original outfit as possible while still remaining true to my personal style. This caused me to look at my wardrobe in a whole new way and see the unique possibilities that each piece offered.
To be honest, it was really nice to feel inspired again. While this little challenge was meant for fun, it gave me the motivation, creative energy and styling inspiration that I sometimes lack when my health isn’t doing so hot. It was that little push that I needed (plus I would totally wear all of these!) 🙂 Read on for my take on Emily Cooper’s outfits along with a short video of the complete outfits in action!
