The Cottagecore trend is probably one of my favorites of all time! To be honest, I felt like my styled embodied many details of this trend before I even knew what it was. But it is so neat to see so many people out there embracing this feminine style full of pastels, puff sleeves and dresses galore – I just love it!
This dress in particular is probably my ideal dress style. Sure, I love a good structured dress but there’s just something special about an easy, flowy dress. It’s comfortable yet presentable and also makes me feel beautiful (plus it looks like I put much more effort in than I actually did lol!). Another trend I’ve been loving is the addition of shirring on dresses, tops and skirts. I actually remember this from when I was younger so I love seeing it make a comeback. That little detail alone ensures a flattering, feminine and comfortable fit. And then there’s the puff sleeves- the dreamy design detail that makes me swoon because of it’s princess dress inspiration.
This dress is off-white so it’s perfect for summer but also great for transitioning into fall (think: tall boots and a chunky cardigan). I feel like you can style this a million different ways! You can dress it up or dress it down to create several different outfits. For this outfit, I wanted to create a fairytale-esque look from my clothing to my hair to my makeup. I added a light pink handbag with pearl details along with my favorite nude sandals (seriously, these go with everything!). But the real showstoppers, in my opinion, are the accessories.
You know I loveeee a good hair accessory so I couldn’t pass up this floral headband! It’s made with REAL flowers and smells so good! Perfect for a bride or anyone that just likes to look pretty as it’s surprisingly wearable. For jewelry, I added these incredible pearl clip in earrings, a chrysoberyl ring and the daintiest necklace. The earrings actually have a floral shape at the lobe with dangling pearls. They are SO pretty and super comfy! The ring is unlike anything I’ve ever seen! It’s made with raw gemstones in the most beautiful light yellow color. It reminds me pure sunshine! And the necklace is dainty and über feminine with a delicate chain and subtle sparkle. It’s seriously stunning and would look amazing with everything!

I only recently learned about the cottage core trend…which is funny because that’s what my blog post was about…trends! I, too am an avid cottage core person. I want to say I’m a hippie, I truly do, but I’m not. So, I live vicariously through the cottage core look. You are absolutely stunning in this dress! And, you’re right…this truly defines you! I personally love April Cornell clothing and find most of her designs fit this trend. I’ve been buying her clothing since the early 2000’s so I guess I was ahead of this trend?
