It’s no secret that my style can lean a bit “maximal” at times hehe! I love a good embellishment, ruffle, and embroidered detail… sometimes all at once! With that being said, I decided during my last closet clean out that it was time to add some more basics into my wardrobe. To be honest, I’ve always overlooked basics since they don’t usually have the pizzaz that I often crave but seeing as they are a necessity when it comes to mixing and matching, I thought it was finally time to take the plunge. But I didn’t just want any basics. I wanted something elegant, luxurious and classically feminine that would style well with the rest of my wardrobe.
I found the most perfect bow blouse upon perusing the Lilysilk website! They come in so many different colors and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted to get a more colorful hue haha! But I went with classic white knowing that it would go with everything! The silk is smooth with a subtle sheen and oh so luxe! I think would be the perfect work blouse but it could also work with other types of outfits.
Another item I gravitated toward was this stunning silk trench coat. It reminded me of the one that Holly wears at the end of Breakfast at Tiffany’s so I knew that it would be perfect! What I love about this one is that it’s super lightweight. It’s silk but it almost looks and feels like chiffon. It’s really gorgeous! And since it is so lightweight, this would be ideal for spring and summer mornings and evenings. Plus the neutral color goes with everything!
