Let me tell you… when I was younger, I LIVED for Clueless fashion. Cher’s and Dionne’s outfits were always my fave but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to really appreciate Amber’s kooky sense of style too! I’ve been watching this movie on repeat since the beginning of the “current world situation” and it’s been such a welcome escape full of fun, nostalgia and of course, fashion inspiration.
Cher had so many iconic outfits! Who could forget the yellow plaid outfit? Or the driver’s test outfit? What about the white Calvin Klein dress or the red Alaïa? And somehow through these iconic looks, the underrated outfits shine in their own special way. Some of my favorites include the green feather trimmed cardigan look, the pink headband look from the skate competition, the purple pants from the stair scene and of course, my favorite Clueless Cher outfit – the iconic red plaid outfit.
These boots served as the main inspiration for recreating Cher’s iconic red plaid Clueless outfit. They are soooo comfortable, warm and perfectly mimic the look of her knee high stockings. My red plaid coat was a PERFECT match for this! It looks very similar but in an updated and modern way. The fit is pristine and I love how the swing shape makes it looks like a dress/skirt. Plus it has the cutest bow detail at the neck! For accessories, I added a black vintage inspired backpack (very Gossip Girl meets Clueless) along with a basic black beret.
Overall the look is super cute and very easy to recreate! What I also love is that it doesn’t look like a costume in the slightest. It’s elegant, feminine and easy to wear.
What do you think? 😉
Whose Clueless outfits did you idolize?
