2 Ways to Wear a Black Polka Dot Dress

For the first outfit, I put the main focus on this darling black polka dot dress! It’s lightweight, comfortable and flattering with a feminine silhouette. I drew inspiration from the vintage print and decided to create a breezy spring time look. For a retro look, I added a black polka dot silk scarf around my neck. The prints work well together because one is much larger than the other! The silk twilly can also be tied on a handbag, around a hat or even used as a headband!
I also added a pair of black sandals with pearl embellishments that mimic the polka dot print. Adding a pop of color is always fun way to incorporate warm weather trends into your wardrobe so I went with a pink crossbody bag! To finish off this pretty spring time look, I added a simple boater hat, one of my favorite warm weather accessories.

For the second look featuring this black polka dot dress, I wanted to style a transitional outfit. The weather is starting to warm up in California (up to 100 this coming week!) but I know that in many parts of the country, it’s still pretty chilly. This polka dot dress has a great skirt and sleeve length – it’s lightweight but still provides adequate coverage. I paired it with this comfy coat, which is surprisingly warm! Instead of playing up the polka dot print, I added more solid cream tones and a few bow details.
I switched out my heels for a pair of comfy flats and added black bow attachments (these can actually be moved to anywhere on the shoe). My boater hat was replaced with a chic headband for a more prim look. To break up the neutrals, I kept the pink crossbody to add a dash of color. You can view more of this outfit in this post!
