We’re spending more time indoors these days and some of our homes are also doubling as temporary office spaces as we navigate the new normal of working from home. As someone that has worked from home for a few years now, I’ve become somewhat of an expert on setting and maintaining a schedule, getting work done amid the distractions and of course, dressing for “the office.”
While I (like everyone else) have my lazy days, I still try to put in effort into the way I look as much as I can. Personally, when I look good, I feel good and as a result, I feel more confident in my work and excited to tackle each day’s tasks. meetings and projects. These work from home outfit essentials will take you from lazy mornings to zoom meetings and everywhere in between.

6 Work From Home Outfit Essentials You Need
Waist Trainer
Working from home is the perfect opportunity to start waist training. I love this waist trainer in particular because the fabric is smooth, comfy and fits like a glove. It creates the ideal hourglass shape and makes your clothing look a million times better.
Comfy Dresses
I wear dresses all the time, even when I’m at home. Dresses have an incredible way of looking put together without actually having to put into too much effort. They are extremely easy to wear and can be very comfortable. I tend to go for lightweight loose-fit dresses, comfy a-line silhouettes and dreamy maxi’s. Although my “at-home” dresses are slightly less dressy than my going out dresses and “comfy dresses” tend to be a bit more basic, I still try to look for design elements that are true to my style like ruffles, bows, and floral prints.
Pretty Tops
If you’re constantly on Zoom calls or meeting with clients via Skype, pretty tops will be a lifesaver! Since your top half is the only thing that’s seen, you can go business on top and party (or cozy) on the bottom 😉 Personally I love tops that add in intricate details like a bow tie neck, buttons, ruffles, embellishments and small puff shoulders. I also love fabrics like silk, chiffon, lace and anything else on the flowy side.
Cozy Pants
Comfy bottoms are a work from home staple! Since most of us that work from home are sitting for the majority of the day in various spots of our home, it’s important to choose something that you’d be comfortable wearing. Some people love wearing jeans but I, personally, think that are a bit too uncomfortable so I tend to choose leggings. A simple pair of black leggings is both comfy and chic.
Jewelry
I love using jewelry to dress up a simple (or not so simple) top or dress! Incorporate a statement necklace, sparkly studs, fine layered necklaces or colorful statement earrings. Work from home outfits tend to be a bit more casual but if you still have a dress code to abide by, jewelry is a great way to show off your personality and add some a dash of joy into your outfit (especially during this time).
Loungewear Sets
Loungewear sets are great alternative to work wear for those super busy days at home with no human interaction. I love that there are so many cute sets now available in a variety of cozy materials. Long gone are the days of sweatpants and large t-shirts. These sets are chic, stylish and comfy.
