Hi beauties!
Good hair care habits in winter time are a must! The combination of warm temperatures indoors and freezing temperatures outdoors can leave our hair dry and brittle instead of smooth and hydrated. That’s why it’s essential to take good care of your hair during this time. Below, I’m sharing 5 tips to keep your hair hydrated this winter!
Don’t Over-wash Your Hair
When you wash your hair too much, it strips it of the oils that it needs leaving it dry and dehydrated. Instead, wash every other day or just condition in between washes. As far as a shampoo and conditioner combo, I highly recommend using the Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner for the colder months. It’s great for all hair types, safe on color treated hair and very gentle yet moisturizing. I’m not kidding when I say that my hair is soooo soft and shiny after using it. I can’t help but run my fingers through it all day haha!
Deep Condition
One thing that really hydrates my hair is to deep condition once or twice a week. I love using the Moroccanoil Weightless Hydrating Mask for this task. It detangles my fine hair really easily, helps with breakage and doesn’t make it flat at all, which I love! For an even more hydrating experience, I recommend mixing in a few drops of the Moroccanoil Treatment oil.
Use Oil
I use oil on my hair everyday and it makes SUCH a difference. I always use the Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream in conjunction with the Moroccanoil Treatment on my towel dried hair before I blow dry. Once it’s dry, I add another drop of oil for added shine, hydration and to smooth flyaways. I also love putting the oil on my ends right before bed. My hairstylist is always impressed that I don’t have split ends 😉 This is my secret lol!
Air-Dry When Possible
If you aren’t in a rush and are planning to stay indoors, I strongly recommend air-drying your hair rather than using heat tools. I air-dry my hair 75% of the time – the only time I use a blow-dryer is when I have plans to leave and need my hair dry in a pinch. This will help immensely in keeping your hair from getting too dehydrated or brittle.
Eat Healthy and Drink Plenty of Water
The vitamins and nutrients from your food help so much in keeping your hair looking healthy, especially during the winter. Products can only go so far in keeping your hair hydrated. Drinking plenty of water is a must and is essential for skin, hair and full-body hydration.
I hope these tips will help you achieve the dreamiest winter hair imaginable! Let me know if you have any tips to add!
