Happy new year, my lovelies!
It’s hard to believe that we are, yet again, starting a new year. And with that comes my favorite post of the year – my annual goals! In this post, I’m sharing my hopes and dreams for 2025. It’s so funny because I do this every year and even if I don’t try hard to hold myself accountable, my goals somehow seem to manifest themselves throughout the year. It’s like magic!
Much like my end of year reflection posts, I go through and read my previous goals posts each year. This gives me a sense of what I still need to work on and where I am in the process of building new skills. Most of my goals are not tangible, but instead are things I want to work on both personally and professionally to get to where I want to be, become the person I’m meant to be and ultimately, fulfill my wildest dreams. For 2025, many of my goals remain the same but at different stages. If you’re interested in seeing my evolution, you can check out previous years here.
Most years, I have twelve goals – one for each month of the year. This year, I have 14 with a mix of new and old that blend seamlessly together to create an even bigger goal. I want to be my best self – constantly growing, learning and evolving into the best version of me that I can possibly be! Read on for my 2025 goals!

My 2025 Goals for the New Year

2025 Goals: Professional
Dream Big!
This is, perhaps, one of my most important professional 2025 goals and one that I feel many people overlook. Years ago, my goals consisted of increasing my confidence, not caring about what others thought about me and truly believing in myself. These skills were absolutely necessary pre-requisites for this goal. Now I’m in a place where I feel like anything is possible. I look at others achieving the things I want for myself and can’t help but feel so incredibly inspired. After all, if it can happen for them, it can happen for me (and for you!).
In 2025, I’m saying good-bye to my “lack mentality.” My modest background does not dictate my future and I am not a victim of my past circumstances and upbringing. Over the years, I’ve found the power to change my story and some of my best qualities are resilience, hope and positivity. I always try to see the world through rose colored glasses, even when it’s black and white. But even then, I’m grateful for the past and hopeful for the future. I’ve seen what’s possible for my life and for the first ever, it feels within reach.
Throughout this journey, some of my dreams for the future have stayed the same while others have evolved or been omitted entirely. However, one thing I’ve learned is to never give up on something you love and have a passion for. My passions have only multiplied and through this process, I’ve opened myself up to new and exciting possibilities. I’m no longer chasing just one dream. My dreams are always changing and getting more outlandish, but honestly that makes it all the more exciting. I can’t wait to see what 2025 holds for me!
Work Smarter
My time management isn’t awful in the slightest BUT I do tend to overwhelm myself when it’s not warranted. This is something that I’ve been working super hard on for the last few years. In 2025, I want to be very intentional with how I work and my work load as a whole. In the past, I thought that the more I worked, the more successful I would be. However, one of my life lessons from this past year was that my work is not always appreciated by others. At times, it causes a lot of stress, pressure and anxiety for nothing. I will never allow others to take advantage of me in that way again.
I’ve also learned over the years that a rigorous schedule doesn’t work for me. I need something more flexible and intuitive to be at my very best. And I feel so incredibly grateful that I have the ability to do this. Even then, many times I work much, much harder than I need to in relation to what I receive in return. No more of this moving forward. I’ll be working on a better work-life balance this year and prioritizing the things and people that are most important to me.
In 2025, I want to focus on what serves me best including the avenues that bring me joy and excitement along with the relationships that value my time, creative vision and me as a person. I’m letting go of everything else that does not serve me in a positive way. I’m also saying good-bye to procrastinating out of anxiety and feeling like an imposter in my own life. Instead, I’ll be taking action on the things that bring me abundance and increase my self-worth.

Embrace My Individuality
Embracing my individuality has always been incredibly important to me and I feel that I’ve done a good job with this thus far. When it comes to work, my style, content and ideas are always unique and 100% me. However, I don’t always show this.
In the past, I have been bullied for this sort of thing – throughout school and even by other creators. I’ve often wondered if I should just “be like everyone else” because that’s what does best professionally. And personally, I’ve never really felt like I belonged anywhere. However, I’m also a very stubborn person and my desire to shine as a unique individual always outweighs the need to feel validated. It’s only been within the last few years that I’ve really felt like others appreciated me for who I am. After all, isn’t this what everybody wants?
This year, I want to further embrace my individuality and share this. As an introvert, it’s not always easy but I’m at a place where I’m actually starting to feel comfortable with this. The only previous limitation has been my lack of time but hopefully this won’t be an issue moving forward. I’m looking forward to sharing more Lizzie (even if it’s boring haha!).
Expand my Creativity
I’ve always been a creative person when it comes to pretty much anything! Whether it’s music, art or fashion, being creative is one of my biggest passions. However, I feel like as time has gone on, I’ve become less creative due to lack of time. And if I’m being completely honest, I feel like I’ve lost a bit of my spark. There have been many times where I’ve felt so much pressure and stress and honestly, I’ve lost a bit of that fun, childlike spark that I had previously. I’m not sure when life became so serious but it’s definitely showing and I miss that part of myself.
In 2025, I want to expand myself in every way possible including my creativity. I want to have more time to dedicate to the projects I love and am passionate about. I also want to try new things – new mediums, new ventures, new ideas, etc. Most importantly, I want to revive the fun, creative Lizzie. I honestly feel like I need to put the fun back into creating and this is what I intend to do. Every aspect of life does not have to be so serious!

Continue to Learn & Evolve
I’m definitely what they call a “lifelong learner” lol! I love reading and exploring different areas whether it’s learning more about myself through self-exploration and psychology, the science behind how something works, cultures and customs for different countries, or even how to style outfits and my home. A lot of my recent professional learning revolves around technology and this seems to be ever-changing with an abundance of new apps, new mediums and new ways of creating. And although I’ve been a creator for nearly a decade, I do feel like I’m stuck in the dark ages at times.
In 2025, I want to set aside the time to learn new skills and refine old ones, especially when it comes to my photography and video editing. I also want to dive deeper into new updates on various platforms and learn more about blogging and YouTube. I’m already quite knowledgable in these areas but there’s always more to be learned and I know that it’s constantly changing. Most importantly, I want to evolve Lizzie in Lace into what I’ve always dreamed of it to be!
Put Myself Out There More
This one is SUCH a hard one for me as a huge introvert but I feel like it’s one of my most important 2025 goals. Although I would consider myself a friendly person, I’m not the type to take initiative when it comes to approaching others, whether it’s personally or professionally. However, I’ve noticed over time that no one is going to cater to myself in this area. It was tough realization but skills, creativity and hard work can only take you so far. It’s so incredibly important to cultivate authentic relationships!
In terms of being a creator and blogger, I want to put myself out there more in my content. I get so shy or busy or drained at times that it keeps me from sharing the things that make Lizzie in Lace unique. Sometimes I get in my head and wonder why people even want to see my outfits or if they care about what I’m up to on any given day. I’m training myself to let go of these negative thoughts because it’s held me back for years. I don’t want to be held back anymore. I want to fully embrace myself as a creator in 2025. This means commitment, consistency and sharing in a more unapologetic and authentic way without worry or fear.

Be Open to New Things
I used to be so rigid when it came to my goals and what I wanted for myself. I am NOWHERE where I imagined myself to be at my age and you know what? I’m perfectly fine with it. This type of thing used to send me into a panic attack and now I’m embracing where life takes me because truly, it can be so beautiful if you are open to new things. I used to think that in order to reach my goals, I had to do it a certain way or take a certain route. But I’ve also learned in life that things rarely work out the way you think they’re supposed to.
If you are forcing something, perhaps it’s not meant to be… or maybe it’s not the right time… or perhaps, you meant to go through a different door. I always thought that there was only ONE way to get to a destination but I’m finding that are different routes and honestly, I enjoy the journey more. It’s been full of things that I never thought possible for myself and I’m finding that when I’m flexible and open-minded, there are infinite opportunities available.
In 2025, I want to let go of the fear of trying new things, seeing new places and meeting new people. I want to let go of the limitations that I’ve set for myself because what I’ve found through this process is that my life works better when I’m open to new possibilities.
Inspire and Be Inspired
2025 will mark TEN years of Lizzie in Lace! I’ll be sharing a special post when the time comes hehe! However, for 2025, I want to inspire and be inspired. My journey has not been an easy one and I’ve shared a lot this on the blog over the years. But even then, it’s been such a valuable experience and I hope that I can share the lessons I’ve learned with others to inspire them to chase their own dreams, no matter what they are. I also want to continue to be inspired by others. Whether this is other creators, positive role models, family, friends and even you, my dear readers. Being inspired from “strangers” on the internet is exactly how Lizzie in Lace came to be 😉

2025 Goals: Personal
Make Financial & Life Goals
This is has been on my list for the last couple of years but I think it’s an important goal! Sometimes, it feels like I’m just coasting by with no concrete goals when it comes to big life decisions regarding children, buying a home and choosing a place to live. In the past, I’ve put so much pressure on myself to fulfill these because it seemed like everyone else had it together. However, over time, I’ve realized that my husband and I have never really been keen on a traditional type of life. We value freedom, flexibility and pursuing passions. And while I know there is never a right time for anything, I don’t think it’s in my best interest to make big decisions without being 100% sure about it. I’m not quite sure what this means for the future as I have an open mind and feel like I may not know what’s right until that moment. Until then, I hope to expand upon our current financial and life goals in 2025.
Prioritize Health, Fitness & Diet
This is always one of my goals and I’m happy to say that I’ve been fairly consistent in making it a priority. In the past, I’ve worked extensively on my mental health, healing and diet. I’ve made strides with my physical health as well but there’s always room for improvement. 2024 left very little time for me, which includes health and self-care. 2025 will not fall victim to the same. I want to start up consistent work outs, journaling, and meditating. In fact, I got my very first “fit journal” and I’m loving it so far!! I also want to try out new recipes and continue to work on my anxiety and stress levels in a positive way.

Uplevel Myself
This was on my list last year and I’m sad to say that I didn’t fulfill it as much as I had hoped due to lack of time for self-care. In previous years, I really upleveled my inner self and now I feel like it’s time to uplevel my exterior. This definitely goes hand in hand with my health, fitness and diet goals for 2025. However, this also encompasses my style as a whole. Fashion-wise, I want to really hone in on my personal style, especially now that I’m getting older and evolving a bit. I also want feel comfortable enough to experiment with different looks whether it’s a hairstyle, makeup or outfit. And of course, I want to prioritize my skincare and create smaller actionable habits that help me to become the best version of myself.
Travel More
Aside from fashion, traveling is one of my biggest passions and honestly, it’s something I wish I could do more of! I’ve had some of my most life-changing moments and realizations while visiting various places and I want more of it. While we did travel a bit this year, it wasn’t as much as in the past. What I realized is that I have a yearning for this and always have. It would be nice to try out camping or stay at an RV park sometime this year. The only thing that has stopped me is money, which I feel most can attest to.
I also realized that I’m getting older and if I continue to put off things, there’s a chance that it may never come to fruition. It’s such a dilemma but I truly can’t think of anything worse – putting off the things you want to do because it’s “not the right time.” The irony is that there never is a right time. With that said, this is something I’ve been thinking about for a while. Of course, I want to continue to share beautiful, feminine outfits, beauty and lifestyle posts but I also want to share adventures from around the world. This is so important to me and something I hope to dive head first into in 2025. I hope it only continues to expand from there!

Romanticize my Life
Romanticizing my life was on my goals post last year and it’s something I want be more mindful of this year. I want to make everything around me beautiful! I want everyday to filled with joy, wonder and magic. It could be something small like lighting my favorite candle, eating off the “nice” dish ware or brewing delicious speciality teas. Or it can be something more extravagant like hosting a tea party, going on a themed trip or putting together beautiful daily outfits. I want to prioritize ME and feel happy, beautiful and excited every single day for no reason at all. 2025 is the year where I actually use and enjoy my “nice things” because it brings me joy!
Connect with others
This is something I have been working on for YEARS and it’s a one of the biggest 2025 goals that I have for both my personal and professional life.
A few years ago, I had some major issues with toxic family members and friends. I decided to take a break from these relationships to work on myself and figure out what I wanted out of my relationships. Fast forward to present day and I’ve already started putting myself in situations to connect with others. I started small by practicing small talk with the cashiers when I would check out at the grocery store, which helped so much! People really aren’t that scary lol! This year, I cultivated new friendships just by introducing myself, making an effort and being present. It feels so strange yet so good to have healthy relationships in my life. I want more of this in 2025.
Professionally, I’ve never been much of a networker and if I’m being honest, I never thought it was necessary. I thought that my skills, knowledge and drive would speak for itself. Boy, was I wrong! Not only is it a necessary part of business but it makes me feel better to be connected to those that share common interests and goals. It’s so nice to have a support system and to feel like we can help one another in various ways. I only wish I would have started this sooner! I was so shy before and while it’s still something I’m working on, I’m learning to put myself out there (even if it means I have to develop a thicker skin at times). In 2025, I want to continue to cultivate and nurture the relationships I’ve built while incorporating new ones.

As for my word of the year, I have a few. Abundance is my main word. I want to feel and be abundant in every aspect of my life and this is the first time that I’ve thought it was truly possible for me. And not just abundance in general but the right type. Abundance in business, friendships, finances, my home life, travels, skills and positive feelings. I’m not quite used to putting myself and my needs/wants first so this will be a groundbreaking year for me.
Other words that come to mind are intention and glamour. I want to be more intentional with my time, my work, and what I give to others. I think that creating in general and making decisions with more intention will be a really healthy change for me. As far as glamour, I want to evoke more romanticism and glamour into my life. Most of my 2025 goals are very inward focused but this one is just a lot of fun and something I’ve been craving for quite some time now. I’m giving myself a makeover hehe! 😉
Thank you so much for reading my 2025 goals and intentions!
What are your 2025 goals for the new year? Do you have a word of the year?

I hope you get to achieve all of these Lizzie!

Thanks so much Jennifer! I hope you achieve all of your goals too <3 Happy new year!
I can relate with a lot of what you said. I used to think I was good with time management, but social media killed that. Sometimes I just like to relax, but it seems wasteful. Yet that can be when I am at my most creative.
As for putting myself out there, I feel ya as a fellow introvert. But I try to push myself…occasionally. Why is it so hard?
XOXO
Jodie
Thanks so much Jodie! SO TRUE!! It's hard to stay on top of everything, especially with new trends, social media platforms and ever-changing algorithms. I totally get that. I always feel like I can be doing "more" instead of sitting around but I'm actually trying to do more relaxing these days. It's been helping! Oh my gosh, I had no idea you were an introvert as well! I feel like a lot of us are haha. But really, you seem more extroverted (probably because your style is more extroverted). It's been my biggest challenge so it's something I'm working hard on this year. The struggle is real haha!
What an exciting year it will be for you Liz! I hope to travel more as well. Love this dress!

Thanks so much Laura!! I appreciate that <3 Wishing the same for you! Hope you have the best year yet!!
These are all such great goals and so well thought out! I love that you have both professional and personal goals. I'm still working on mine!
