These are my top 13 favorite 2019 fashion trends! This year will involve lots of color, lots of texture and lots of feminine details 😉 I’m actually wearing four of them in this outfit – can you guess which ones?

2019 Fashion Trends

Living Coral

When Pantone’s color of the year was announced, I wasn’t so sure about it because orange is my least favorite color lol! However, it has a slightly pink undertone that reminds me of a brighter orange sherbet, so that made me feel a little bit better about it haha (fun fact: it was also one of my wedding colors! ). I foresee this color being huge during spring and summer and having an effect on everything from makeup and fashion to home decor and accessories. Other colors derived from Living Coral will be rusty reds and warm terra-cottas, both of which I’m loving!

Pressed Rose

This was another Pantone color that I absolutely fell in love with! It’s the most perfect shade of pink – a beautiful dusty rose (similar to the color of my coat) that is sophisticated, elegant and feminine. I can see this color being a hit not only for spring and summer, but for fall and winter as well. It’s the new millennial pink 😉 Expect this everywhere!

Neutral Color Palettes

Neutral color palettes started to gain traction at the end of 2018 and will continue into this year… think lots of creams, beiges and tans! Keep in mind that when wearing a neutral color palette, it’s always best to mix textures to create dimension. This is one trend that I am loving!

Ruching Details

I saw this all over the runways in September! Ruching details will be all over the place in 2019 and it’s a trend that I love because it can create the most flattering silhouettes on any body type. Expect to see this strategically placed on a lot of dresses, skirts and tops.

Feathers

Although not the most wearable, I am personally very excited about this trend! The runways were full of feather hats, skirts, dresses and tops. To make it more wearable and take it down a notch without sacrificing the glam factor, look for feather details around a collar, along a hem, on a sleeve, or even on an accessory.

Hair Accessories

This might be the trend I’m most excited about! I have always been a huge fan of hair accessories and have headband collection that could even rival Blair Waldorf’s (if I do say so myself!). Bobby pins, barrettes and headbands will be everywhere, but done in a very modern way. In particular, headbands that are a bit thicker and knotted will lead the pack (you may have already been seeing these on Instagram and popping up in stores!).

Ultra Feminine Style

Another trend I’m ecstatic about because…well duh, it’s my whole style! Bows, florals, ruffles, stripes and gingham will reign supreme in this darling trend. For bows, you can expect to see a variety of sizes on everything from clothing to shoes to accessories. Hair bows are also having their moment, especially when a simple ribbon is used (so chic!).

Monochromatic Looks

Monochromatic looks will continue to be huge in 2019! Not only will solid color monochromatic looks be all the rage, but patterned styles as well. Expect to see everything from bold colors and neutral palettes to prints such as plaid and florals worn head-to-toe.

Tortoise Shell Jewelry

Tortoise shell jewelry is just starting to make an appearance and I’m loving it! You can expect to see this in the form of chic earrings, bold bangles, and sophisticated necklaces. I would even go on a limb to say that it will be incorporated into accessories somehow, particularly handbags.

Fringe

Fringe was big in 2018 and will continue into 2019. This trend is especially stylish on skirts, dresses, tops and jackets but you can expect to see it on accessories such as handbags, shoes and jewelry as well.

Belt Bags (aka Fanny Packs)

I wasn’t sure how to feel about this trend when it made it’s way into 2018, but it’s grown on me. I think that this modern take on the fanny pack has a more sophisticated and luxe vibe than it’s retro counterpart (plus it’s super flattering!). I personally prefer the more structured designs to the classic hobo style.

Luxe Suiting

The suiting trend recently gained popularity at the end of 2018 and will continue to gain traction throughout 2019. I’m not sure if this is a result of the 80s trend but I am here for it – I am particularly loving the menswear suit trend with androgynous fabrics such as tweed and plaid. You expect to see more solid, lighter colors heading into spring.

Micro Pleats

Another trend I saw all over the runway! Pleats have been popular for a while now, but the 2019 version involves tight, small pleats that are chicer than ever! You’ll also see micro pleats being used more creatively in the design process such as in draping, full skirts, and sculptural details.

Trends I Can Live Without

While I’m loving the majority of the 2019 fashion trends, there are some that I’m just not a fan of – eek! And while these look AMAZING on other people, they aren’t really something I can pull off.

  • Dad Sneakers
  • Tie-Dye
  • Neon
  • 90s Grunge

Which 2019 fashion trend is your favorite?
