If I had to choose just one product to use for my skin, it would have to be an eye cream. But not just any eye cream…one that can do it all. Read on for four simple tips for younger looking eyes along with my holy grail eye cream!

For me, the key to looking younger isn’t just taking care of your skin in general (which is important), but taking care of the skin around your eyes. After all, it’s the most delicate and therefore, shows signs of aging much faster. And when I say aging, I don’t just mean just wrinkles. Dark circles, puffiness and under-eye bags all contribute to the overall appearance of your face. Luckily, there are a few simple things that you can do to keep your eyes looking younger than ever.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Staying on a consistent sleep schedule is one of the best things you can do for your skin! Make sure you get enough sleep each night and try to go bed around the same time, if possible. Sleeping on your back is always best for protecting the skin around your eyes, but if you’re a side sleeper (like me) then I highly recommend using a silk pillow case.

Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is probably one of the most important things you can do for you body as a whole, including your skin. Aim to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day at the very least and if you can, try to decrease your salt intake as sodium can cause eye puffiness.

Protect Your Eyes

This one is a no-brainer yet so many people often forget about it. Not only does wearing SPF everyday help fight off signs of aging eyes, but wearing sunglasses when outdoors does so as well! Putting on sunglasses is such an easy thing to do and they make you look a bit mysterious and fashionable (think Anna Wintour haha!). Just make sure they have adequate UV protection 😉

Apply Eye Cream Properly

This one is SO important! I think that most you of know that you should be using an eye cream in your skincare routine, but so many don’t know how to apply it properly. I especially love the Total Eye Concentrate from Clarins because not only is it safe for all skin types (normal, dry, oily, combination and sensitive) but it’s an all-in-one product that smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduces the look of puffiness and dark circles and gives eyelids a lifted appearance. And as if that wasn’t enough, most people typically see visual results in just one week of regular use! I also love that it’s plant based with incredible ingredients such as organic harungana extract (to restore the appearance of density), cassie flower wax (for smoothing), tetrapedtide (for lifting) and albizia (to combat dark circles and puffiness). I always apply mine morning and night just before my moisturizer. To apply properly, do the following:

1.) Dispense a small amount of Clarins Total Eye Concentrate on your finger and warm the product between your fingertips

2.) Place and gently press under the eyes moving from the inner corner outward (it’s important to press and not tug, pull or stretch the skin under your eyes. I use my ring finger to gently tap the product along the eye socket/orbital bone)

3.) Repeat above the eyes on the browbone just below your eyebrows (not on your eyelids) moving from the inner corner outward

That’s it! So many simple things you can do daily that make the biggest difference in the appearance of your skin!

Do you have any tips to add?
