My Favorite Little Black Coat

Happy Monday, loves!

I apologize for my posts going up later than normal. I have been feeling super sick for the last few days and ended up sleeping almost all weekend ๐Ÿ™ I don’t get sick often at all but when I do, it feels just awful – yuck.

Anyway, today I’m talking about a staple that everyone should have in their closet….a little black coat! ๐Ÿ™‚

A couple weeks ago, I wrote a post about all of my colorful coats and why you need to add some color into your winter wardrobe! With that being said, there is nothing quite as classic as a little black coat. Black coats are definitely a staple during the winter and for good reason. They look great on just about everyone, seem to flatter every body shape, easily dress up (or down) an outfit and always look perfectly put together (even if you just throw it on).ย A typical “little black coat” might look like different to different people: it can be a long trench, a faux fur coat, a fit and flare, a trapeze-shaped coat, a wool peacoat, a silky duster, a hooded parka, the list goes on and on. In my case, it’s a very tailored and sleek with a removable faux fur collar. I normally go for fit and flare styles to mimic the shape of a dress only because it’s the most flattering to my body shape. However, I have been loving the looser fitting styles lately and that look just as flattering. This coatย in particular may not nip in at the waist, but it has a darling swing shape that is still feminine and flirty. It’s actually the same shape as the green coat in this post.

For this outfit, I decided to add a contradicting pattern with the striped sweater. Since the stripes are a much larger print than the leopard, it works! To add a little bit of color, I styled it with a pink trumpet skirt. Black bow heels and a simple black handbag with rose gold metal finished off the look.

Which style of black coat is your favorite to wear?
