12 Inspiring Motivational Quotes to Start Your Week
So I’ve been putting off this post since yesterday because I didn’t know what to write. A situation I’ve been praying about finally figured itself out, but not in the way I was hoping. A decision had to be made and I ended up losing a lot of my students. It’s really funny how one thing leads to another because in this case, it was a complete domino affect that I couldn’t control. I’ve been wanting to invest more time into the blog this year but I’ve had a hard time letting go of teaching because I get super attached to my students. This situation left me feeling pretty low…like I wasn’t valued (my expertise, talent and even, myself as a person) and like my work wasn’t important. And honestly, it felt like the nail in the coffin of a really tough year (personally). After having a little pity party, I realized that we are in charge of how we feel and how others make us feel. They can only make us feel bad ourselves if we give them permission to. Someone’s decision doesn’t change my expertise, talent or ability and most certainly, shouldn’t affect the way I feel about myself. I like to see the silver lining in things and although this was unexpected, there are multiple reasons why this is a good thing – less driving, less stress and a full day to work on the blog (exactly what I wanted!). In fact, this is probably a huge blessing because I have been completely overwhelmed with everything. I’m a huge believer in signs and truly believe that this is a “when one doors closes, another opens” situation and while it hurt initially, it has me excited about all the possibilities for the future. 🙂 One thing that helps me overcome challenging situations is reading motivational quotes. They allow me to really think deeply about things and often change my mindset. These are few of my favorites:
“Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.” – Anonymous
“Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.” – Malcolm S. Forbes
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Washington Thurman
“Most of the shadows of this life are caused by standing in one’s own sunshine.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
“The way get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” – Walt Disney
“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.” – Winston Churchill
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford
“You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” -Martin Luther King Jr.
“There will always be a reason why you meet people. Either you need them to change your life or you’re the one that will change theirs.” – Angel Flonis Harefa
“Realize that if a door closed, it’s because what was behind it wasn’t meant for you.” – Mandy Hale
“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” – Marilyn Monroe
